12.01.2022 Looking back at 2018 I feel very blessed with what we've achieved and want to say a big THANK YOU to everyone who helped make 2018 a very special year. We have ...made a lot of progress towards establishing and growing Carp and Conventional fishing as Sport fishing codes in Australia. Some of these achievements made the angling community more aware of our intentions to not only grow the sport here in Australia but also to increase the number of teams competing internationally on a regular basis. These are some of the things we achieved in 2018: 1. We hosted the first World Carp Classic Australasia Qualifying event. Jacques and Marius represented the New Zealand team and went on to win the Finals in France! The next Qualifier will be held in 2020 2. We negotiated a Catch and Release permit with the Victorian Fisheries Authority. The wording of the permit was specially formulated to suit the Carp Specimen and Conventional angling styles. 3. We now have Bank Angler Angling Clubs in Victoria, WA and NSW. This offer both social and competitive anglers an opportunity to meet and fish on the first Saturday of every month. 4. Resiting the potential release of the wasteful Koi herpes virus and promoting the Carp Australia Resource Project - C A R P as a more sensible and socially responsible plan has been an ongoing activity. It is important to note that it is the only plan actively promoting Carp fishing as a sport as part of a long term solution. 5. Another Australian first was to arrange and put together Carp and Bank Angling teams to represent Australia at the 2019 Sport fishing World Games (World Championships) 6. Started various discussions with the World Angling body and other international organizations will will hopefully result in exiting things to come. 7. I have not spent as much time as I would have liked to on testing and promiting Bank Angler bait and tackle but did manage to add some very successful products to the range. Goals for 2019 in no particular order: 1. Increase the membership of the existing clubs and get the ACT up and running. 2. Continue to lobby the Queensland and South Australian Governments for Catch and release permits or carp angler friendly regulations. 3. Finalise discussions and put in place an annual multi disciplin international tournament. 4. Successful Sport Fishing World Games 5. Host a successful Bank Angler Trans-tasman competition 6. Continue to promote the sport amongst the general public and to produce a series of Conventional and Carp fishing videos which will serve as promotional material and an educational tool for newcomers. 7. Continue to produce high quality Bank Angler Products https://www.bankangler.com.au/#/ 8. Focus on improving the existing West Australian fishing venue and to hopefully secure one or two new ones. 9 Continue to promote the Carp Australia Resource Project - C.A.R.P I'm looking forward to working with you on what looks like a very busy and exciting 2019......HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

11.01.2022 HAPPY NEW YEAR and a BIG Thank You to each and everyone of you for your support and helping us grow Bank Angling and Carp Sport fishing in Australia. I do not like singling out people but think it's important to mention the following individuals who assisted and or who has served as club committee members...Carl Boothroyed, Dave Mead, Andrew Lane, Ruan du Plessis, Neill Papenfus, Schalk Kock, Wicus Fourie, Veronica Welding, Buks Welding, André Joubert, Mark York and Jacques N...iehaus. Some of our 2019 achievements: Clubs: Bank Angler WA and Victoria are both fully functioning established Angling Clubs. Bank Angler NSW continued to offer monthly social events. Our goal is to increase the monthly participation numbers and to have the NSW club incorporated by the end of 2020. We're also looking at ways to get ACT anglers more involved. Sport Fishing World Games: First time in history Australia had Bank Angling and Carp fishing teams compete at a World Championship. Our Bank Angling team got Bronze and the Carp team finished 4th out of 24 Countries. Bank Angler Trans-tasman competition: This very enjoyable and successful event was held at Blowering dam during the first week of April. Congratulations to the winners, Team Carpzilla (Jacques Niehaus and Marcell van Heerden) We expect BATT 2020 to be even better with participation numbers jumping from 17 to 37!!!! Bank Angler Bait and Tackle I also want to say a special Thank You to those of you who have purchased Bank Angler Products throughout the year. Without your support the above would not have been possible. My motto has always been to first put time and effort into the sport before taking from it. I have recently decided to focus a bit more on my business which gas been on the back burner for the last couple of years.
