08.01.2022 This week we celebrate NAIDOC week, 8-15 November. The original dates were postponed due to COVID19. This year’s NAIDOC theme Always Was, Always Will Be. Recognises that First Nations people have occupied and cared for this continent for over 65,000 years. BCCT acknowledge the rich contribution that the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people provide to our local communities, our country and to our organisation and we pay our respects to all custodians of the land on... which we conduct our work. #alwayswasalwayswillbe #NAIDOC2020

02.01.2022 Thursdays are get to know the BCCT team day Today we meet’ Edward Name: Ted Position: Assessment Officer... Time at BCCT: 22 (and a half) years! Ted has been with BCCT since 1998 and has covered all rolls over the years from driver, bookings, scheduler, acting manager and is now doing client assessments. Ted has recently reduced his hours to begin the slow transition in to retirement. Q: What do you like most about working with BCCT? A: It has been great over the past years to realise that I have contributed in assisting older folk to remain in their own home and keep their independence. Q: Besides work, what are your other interests? A: I have always been interested in mechanical things, especially motor vehicles. I enjoy driving them and working on them. Q: What is next for Ted? A: Travelling. There have been many enjoyable trips through the outback over the years. My wife and I continue to travel but these days we mainly keep to the coast and rent historical cottages instead of camping in a tent.

01.01.2022 Today we commemorate Remembrance Day. Some of our lovely clients have knitted red poppies in remembrance of those who lost their lives during war. Here are some photos of our clients with those poppies. ... They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old; Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them.
