25.01.2022 Client transformation! A huge congratulations must go to superstar @peterleighton who has lost a staggering 11kgs over the previous 12 weeks! Peter’s photos speak for themselves and are an absolute credit to his consistent performance over the past few months! Peter initially came to me hoping to lose a little bit of weight leading into his wedding next year, but has absolutely transformed his life over the previous 12 weeks! ... Besides his great weight loss, Peter has also altered his lifestyle habits. Peter is now an eager exerciser, initially implementing a morning walk, which has now progressed into a run every second day, and now has rediscovered his love of bike riding and has even got his eyes set on a rugby come back! A few words from Peter: The last 12 weeks have been great training with Cam. Aside from the weightloss and fitness increase I have loved the focus on creating healthy lifestyle habits. Variety has also been something that has kept me motivated, we are constantly changing up the workouts, introducing new exercises or focusing on ones that I have enjoyed, this has allowed me to stay motivated, even through the points when I would rather be anywhere else, because I have started to really enjoy the training. Keen to see what the next 12 weeks hold! If you or anyone you know are seeking great transformations like Peter, contact me and we can get started! See more

24.01.2022 This week marks the beginning of a new training cycle! In accordance with this, many of the clients I am working with have progressed along @performancecoach_wilmot plyometric continuum , now launching into their first taste of integrating a few movements we have been practicing over the past few months. Although we still have some work to do regarding body control and landing strong in our athlete stance positions, video 1, 2 and 3 highlight the diffe...rences between the three stages. Note: FB only allows you to post 1 video so I have excluded the first two but have left the justifications for them. Video 1 - (Talls to shorts DL & SL) highlights some clients learning how to absorb their bodyweights through an eccentric development block. This teaches them what an ‘athlete stance’ is, a position that I frequently utilise, and sets them up for their jumping progressions. Video 2 - (Squat Jump) showcases the second phase of this continuum, where concentric development is prioritised. This has the clients pause at the bottom of each repetition, removing their ability to utilise their stretch-shortening cycle (SSC), prior to their concentric jump up. Video 3 - (Countermovement Jump - CMJ) reveals the integration of the above two movements in one exercise. The athletes are new to this movement, and are having great fun practising utilising their SSC. Really looking forward to their next step! See more

To help you achieve this goal, I’m offering 10% off all my coaching fees for anyone who signs up between now and Friday (6th-11-12). Well done to @al.langdon who pushed out two 12 month goals on Saturday morning with a 100kg squat and 80kg bench! Alex has been working away with me across the past 12 weeks through my outdoor sessions, and got the chance to get into the gym on Saturday and test out his strength! 22.01.2022 Although COVID has hit everyone for 6, myself included, it is vital that at the end of the year, you’ll be able to reflect and see the great things that still have occurred across the past 12 months. For myself, COVID gave me a chance to pause and refocus what I am trying to achieve with my coaching , which is to create healthy lifelong habits within each person I coach. My desire is to instil the confidence, autonomy and wisdom in my clients that if they wish...ed, they would be able to go off on their own in future years with the knowledge of being able to create & follow their own structured S&C program. In order to achieve this, all my clients have learnt the skill of reading and following their programs within my sessions, rather then me simply telling them what to do next. This teaches them the correct exercise names and purposes, rest periods and structure behind each session. This has already lead to greater transition throughout sessions, with clients able to come in before their session and begin their mobility sections before their scheduled training time. The art is to then add in my personality to these sessions with the hope that they are an enjoyable part of their week and they want to continue training! I believe this will pay off over the Christmas period when aligning everyone’s busy lifestyles for training sessions may become more challenging, as they will have the ability to follow along the sessions that I prescribe them. 22.01.2022 Thanks 2020! One of the biggest challenges I’ve found across the past 12 months with my increased running load has been my maximal strength development. With consistent ‘fatigued legs’ due to running 5-7 days a week, creating and following a structured S&C program that pushes my maximal strength proved difficult. ... Hence why I was happy to get up 160kgs last week, a 20kgs improvement from 5 months ago. Hopefully in 2021 I can continue to push the envelope with this fitness component, such as from a technical point as I get better at mitigating fatigued legs. See more

21.01.2022 Why I love what I do! It has been amazing to see Lisa from @mercedesbenz develop through the last 8 week training block! Lisa has shown tremendous consistency and effort over the past two months. ... With a huge smile, she has been completing three weekly strength sessions with me plus increasing her daily walking minutes and developing a better relationship with food. I was wrapped watching her learn several compound lifts at the start of this 8 week block and slowly increase her technique and strength through these lifts. This was capped off with a 70kgs 6 rep trapbar deadlift on her last session for 2020! But what was more rewarding to observe, was watching Lisa’s self belief develop across this time period, and having her realise that she is a strong individual. This is by far the best part of being a strength and conditioning coach. See more

20.01.2022 The last 6 months has thrown some unforeseen circumstances our way, however one thing that has never faulted is the commitment these two show me every single week! 6 months of weekly sessions has seen these two significantly develop as athletes, and as a small reward, they have earned some fresh new merchandise! Can’t wait for the next 6 months!

20.01.2022 What lives inside your gym bag? There’s no secret that I have a little bit of OCD, and carry quite a bit inside my training bag, but do you have essentials inside yours too?

18.01.2022 Week 15 - By far my favourite week! This picture is simply a picture of me standing in my dam with some of my best friends, but marks a great significance to myself 15 weeks of training completed... Finally breaking 100km for my week (114kms) - This has been a huge goal of mine but I have constantly fallen short with life (work etc) snipping runs short. Still ticking off 4 gym sessions Finishing my longest run ever in great spirits (some of my others have left me on my hands and knees), but today I was alive and excited because I knew I had the next 4.2kms in my body. Keeping under my race pace, it’s not my quickest run, but the best I have felt. Tested out my race venue But most importantly, this photo highlights me keeping perspective and having time for those things/people who are more important than my running performances. I’m ready! And I cannot wait for this next 3 weeks before I get to put everything to the rest on my race day!

16.01.2022 Celebrate the small wins! Although to some, this is not a huge achievement, and honestly, I am still a bit off my goal, however sometimes it’s vital to stop and celebrate. 8 weeks ago, my longest run was 6km (for several years), now, after being committed to a program I designed, I have significantly progressed from that. ... Sometimes people chase down these big goals, which is great, but it’s important to learn to also love the journey towards that target you are chasing down, otherwise personally I genuinely don’t think the reward will live up to the hype you’ve generated in your own mind! Keep striving to be better! 8 weeks in, 10 weeks to go! See more

15.01.2022 Feeling blessed to have wide open spaces to exercise in during these tough times

15.01.2022 Huge shoutout to this legend! Well done @sammy_tardrew for ticking over 6 months of consistent training with myself. You’ve made enormous steps forward across the last 6 months, beginning off with never being inside a gym before, and having fitness as a non priority in your life, to committing fully to your training. Although you worked exceptionally hard to get ready for the netball season, you have made a fantastic transition in your mindset, now closing in on your h...alf marathon that we have been working hard towards. Can’t wait to see what the next 6 months has in store for your progression!

13.01.2022 Training Methodology Aligning with my post on Sunday night regarding laying the foundations of a general endurance base for the athletes I am working with, here is a glimpse into the resistance training regime they have been completing over the past month. Abiding by the method of beginning with volumes at intensities, and then transitioning that relationship as pre-season , we have spent the first 4 weeks focused on creating a general strength foundati...on with the intention of increasing their base force production capabilities. Within this, key lifts were practiced and improved upon in a technical aspect, enabling a smooth transition when it is time to their intensities. These goals were through having their key lifts performed within the repetition range which will move into an 8 rep range across the next 4 weeks, whilst their intensity. Additionally, it has also been a large goal to develop their work capacity, assisting their athletic vision at this point of their year. This was through pairing a major lift, such as the trap bar deadlift that @sammy_tardrew is performing in this video, with 2 assisting exercises, of which all were performed within 3 minutes before the next set began. I’m loving the way these guys are coming along! If you have any questions about exercises I use to achieve this, or if you’d like to join the team, simply send me a message See more

13.01.2022 New opportunities! @geelonggrammar

11.01.2022 Learning and progressing through a range of core lifts should be an absolute cornerstone to a well-designed program!

10.01.2022 Was quite proud to have this paper submitted last Friday! Thankyou to those who helped me review my article and pick up my 3am typing mistakes haha

10.01.2022 Can’t wait to get stuck into the next training block with this local legend @jeremylahaye Jeremy has been working with me on and off for over 12 months now, but with some extra motivation by his close friends he has knuckled down over the last 10 weeks and will now be firing for the upcoming pre-season! Here’s a little bit of info about the man:... Nickname: Jez Age: 25 Occupation: Plumber Team: Rokewood Position: HBF Funniest thing you’ve seen on a football field: Big Coxy man handling my boy Rance in the 2018 Pre-lim Reason for choosing BPT to train with: You’re a local mate that runs a good program and which is very enjoyable to be apart of Favourite/Less favourite thing about training with BPT: Yeah it would have to be our visits to Dana st haha with my least favourite being @caiusbarrenger complaining about every hill sprint Which of your mates would be the most likely to skip on paying for a shout: @caiusbarrenger , usually in bed by the time it’s his shout Greatest achievement in footy: Club BnF AFL team you support: Richmond B2B Favourite hobbie? Love pissing Cam off at PT, but would have to say that Dana St hill sprints are up there with cutting wood What pisses you off? @caiusbarrenger and @sammy_tardrew being very affectionate to each other at PT. Makes me sick See more

09.01.2022 Pumped to be heading into another pre-season working alongside this legend! @sammy_tardrew has put in a large training block since this time last year, not resting throughout COVID, and I can’t wait for it to all pay off once season 2021 is underway! Here’s a little insight into @sammy_tardrew ... Nickname: Sammy Age: 24 Occupation: Teachers Aide Team: Rokewood Any previous teams?: Being a Tardrew meant only playing for one team. Position: Goal Keeper surly my height gave that away.... haha nah Centre and Wing Attack! Reason for choosing BPT to train with: I started off with a bootcamp to help out BPT 12 months ago and I haven’t left! Favourite/Less favourite thing about training with BPT: Favourite thing would be how enjoyable the sessions are even with Dana street hill sprints haha. Less favourite is putting up with @jeremylahaye and @caiusbarrenger in my sessions Funniest thing you’ve seen on a football field: @jeremylahaye running around like a headless chook Which of your teammates would be the most likely to skip on paying for a shout: Apparently I’m the queen of skipping shouts sooo myself AFL team you support: Doggies Favourite hobbie? Ahh this is when I realise how boring I am....I don’t really have a hobby besides fitness What pisses you off? The fact that @jeremylahaye and @caiusbarrenger are in a secret relationship See more

09.01.2022 How good is it to be back! @ SWF 24/7 GYM

08.01.2022 Spring nights aren’t too bad

08.01.2022 Great morning running and exploring some local tracks throughout Anglesea with the big sister @emhutch1989

08.01.2022 I cannot stress this enough... set goals, set goals, set goddamn goals! Ask yourself this question, do you get in your car and begin driving without having your end destination in mind? ... No?!? Then why do people do the same thing with their training? Now the below information and attached photos are not an ego-boost, but proof that using SMART goals works! At the start of February I was coming off the back of having very little running exposure since football had finished, and as seen within the first image, my 6km time was shit to say the best. So I set the following goal using the SMART formula. - Specific: Improve CV fitness to build into a marathon preparation - Measurable: 6km under 25mins - Appropriate: I knew that I was going to have a lot more time available for running with the pandemic closing gyms overseas (which eventually shut down Australia’s) - Realistic: I planned to run 4 times a week, attempting the 6km once a week - Time-based: Before June 1 2020 I am blessed to say that this formula has worked for me and I am sure using the same SMART formula can work for you to! @ Ballarat, Victoria See more

08.01.2022 Sunday long runs on the sand

08.01.2022 Nothing like training whilst watching the sunrise!

08.01.2022 Was good fun blowing the cobwebs out of this on Friday

07.01.2022 Split Squat Adductor ISO Hold This exercise is underpinned by my belief that adductors, along with hip flexors are often two undeveloped muscle groups within many athletes. Therefore, this little progression to one of my favourite ISO hold exercises is a fantastic activity to implement, particularly for those who have high running loads. If you have a door, you have the required equipment! ... Prescription Details: Start with a 15/20 sec hold on one leg Swap front leg, repeat Accumulate 2/3 total minutes (adding all your mini sets up!) Looking to progress it? Increase the length of each hold, or increase the total accumulated time! Happy training Thanks to @vernongriffith4 for posting this exercise See more

05.01.2022 140kgs coming up reasonably easy today! Funnily enough, my last lift before we enter restrictions is equivalent to the last lift I did in March before we began our first restrictions. The difference? ... My bodyweight is 12kgs lighter, making 140kgs now double my bodyweight. Therefore although my absolute strength is similar, my relative strength has increased. I was looking forward to really pushing the ceiling with this lift for the reminder of the year, but there are more important things going on in society at the moment than hitting PBs. I feel strength training is an element a lot of endurance runners neglect, and could benefit extremely from implementing into their programs. See more

05.01.2022 What a way to finish off 2020 for @peterleighton! Within the previous four week block of strength training, Peter’s objectives were to lower his volume in his major lifts, whilst increasing his intensity, intending to build his base as we progress towards maximal strength. Unfortunately he sustained a slight injury outside of the gym, giving him grief in end range hip extension. Despite this interrupting his acute goals, we were able to modify his program, ...rehabilitate his injury, and then begin reloading this movement pattern. On Thursday Peter capped off a great return to full capacity by achieving his 8 rep max and got under 100kgs for this first time! The new year will see Peter continue lowering his volume whilst simultaneously increasing his intensity as we attempt to continue pushing the envelope with his strength! Well done legend! We have some eccentric tempo work to improve upon but overall you’ve capped off a great 6 months of consistent training! See more

04.01.2022 Recovery, an often overlooked component to a well structured fitness regime. Can’t wait to get through some more Netflix shows now that I’ve got this bad boy!

04.01.2022 Great to see @caiusbarrenger and @sammy_tardrew progressing along @performancecoach_wilmot plyometric continuum, now with the inclusion of a hurdle jump. Very pleased with how this went for their first session, however we will need to ensure we are not pushing our legs out to the side whilst jumping over. Looking forward to how these progress over the coming weeks.

03.01.2022 Have you found a new passion within COVID? Or been reunited with an old past time that you had previously lost time for? Does this bring you happiness? Stop right there... ... If you’re aware that this pastime/hobby brings you enjoyment, then do not fall into the trap of not prioritising this task once things return to normality. Seriously, why would you not make time for the things you love doing? Mine has been running and reading, but whatever yours is, make god damn sure once things speed back up (and they will! Haha) you don’t neglect things activities. @ Mount Mercer, Victoria, Australia See more

02.01.2022 Struggling to train your arms at home? Why not try the ISO 90/90 hold! I got this one off @defrancosgym and have been absolutely loving it! For your programming, begin at a select time e.g. 20 secs for each set, complete 3-5 sets depending on your goals and then attempt to increase your time within your following session!... Who needs equipment? Haha go give it a go! See more

02.01.2022 Extremely excited to be working alongside Buninyong senior power forward @caiusbarrenger for the 2020/2021 pre-season! Caius has been travelling along nicely through a 6 week off-season block, as we look to ramp things up leading into the season. Here’s a little bit of a lighter side into the often quite man:... Nickname: Baz Age: 24 Occupation: Self employed chippy Team: Buninyong Any previous teams?: Rokewood, Mt clear Position: FF, CHF Reason for choosing BPT to train with: @sammy_tardrew is training with you and needed a hand after missing the footy season. - Favourite/Less favourite thing about training with BPT: Dana st hill is great Boxing least favourite Funniest thing you’ve seen on a football field: @jeremylahaye running Which of your teammates would be the most likely to skip on paying for a shout: Myself, I’m tight af Greatest achievement in footy: CHFL interleague team 3 or 4 BFL interleague reps AFL team you support: COLLINGWOOD Favourite hobbie? Some would say working but I would say sitting on the mower having a stubbie with the straw hat on.... also love lamb marking What pisses you off?
