21.01.2022 The world may have temporarily frozen, but children NEVER stop learning. You can imagine my delight when two four year olds worked collaboratively together - one taught the other how to draw an "A", the last letter in their name. "You go up up up up, then down down down, so it looks like a tunnel, and then you put a crossbow through it".... Learning language is so difficult, yet children can make it so much more fun with their creativity and imagination. Unfortunately, I didn't get the end result of the child's beautifully written name, as she decided to paint over it - BUT, it was a beautiful work of art and you could see the serious sense of pride and achievement beaming on her face knowing that she had in fact, written the letters in her name. Unassisted, and unprovoked by me - this is child led learning at its finest!

01.01.2022 I recently went to check on my elderly neighbours. I took them some fresh eggs from our chickens. She came back a few days later with a bag of home grown tomatoes and capsicum. Here is our "take home" pile for my daycare families. It is easy to feel worried and stressed at the moment, something that I feel can be alleviated immensely with a strong sense of community.
