15.01.2022 At 2304hrs last night, Bankstown Fire and Rescue NSW attended a complex Rescue involving a car and a pole. Due to the heavy compression of the damaged vehicle on the patient and his severe injuries, the roof, passenger doors and side pillar of the vehicle all had to be removed by Hydraulic Shears and Spreaders. The car then had to be winched away from the pole with the patient still trapped inside using a Tirfor Winch, with a 16T Hydraulic Ram then utilised to push the compression of the drivers side doors off the patient. Further to this, the dash of the car then had to lifted by Telecopic Rams to allow the patients legs to be freed. This was a long and tedious Rescue, a great job done by all attending emergency personnel!!!
