24.01.2022 IT RUNS IN THE FAMILY Culture King today became the fifth heat winner to qualify for the $100k TAB Metropolitan Region Championships Final. Pictured here as a foal is The King, with his mum Tessace who was trained on Bankstown Paceway throughout her entire racing career by Mick Watkins, and owned by the tracks late President Les Bentley. ... As a two-year-old and three-year-old Tessace contested several Group One and Group Two finals including the NSW Sires Stakes and NSW Breeders Challenge. Also a regular starter in these classic races was Lilac Stride a lucrative filly owned by Emilio and Mary Rosati. In the breeding barn Lilac Stride produced five foals, notably her third foal Wolf Stride who secured his place in the final of the metro championships after a commanding victory in heat three last week. In just over a weeks time at Club Menangle Trackside history looks set to repeat itself as Culture King and Wolf Stride follow in their mothers footsteps and go to battle in the states newest feature event the TAB Metropolitan Region Championships. 14.01.2022 Bankstown Paceway is excited to announce an upgrade after being allocated more than $70,000 under the NSW Government’s COVID-19 stimulus program. Local State Member for East Hills Wendy Lindsay said it was fantastic to see the program go towards improvement works at the paceway while supporting jobs and the economy.
