This week we got some fantastic training on Charlie - the sandbag machine As we are coming into the flood and storm season this training was very valuable for us and our community. There was a few laughs as not all the sand made it into the bags hahaha

From this week, you might see us back out undertaking training in small groups to ensure we have the essential skills and capability required to respond to an emergency. Emergency services as a permitted industry are able to conduct critical training and exercising under the directions, as endorsed by the Victorian Ch...ief Health Officer. 07.01.2022 This Minor Flood Warning is being issued for Shelford and Geelong. Leigh River: The Leigh River will remain below minor. The Leigh River at Shelford (Hwy Bridge) peaked at 5.63 metres around 09:00 pm Sunday 11 August and is currently at 4.81 metres and falling. The Leigh River at Shelford (Hwy Bridge) will remain below the minor flood level (6.00 m) during Monday. Barwon River downstream of Inverleigh: ... Minor flooding is expected along the Barwon River downstream of Inverleigh. The Barwon River at Geelong is currently at 1.99 metres and steady. The Barwon River at Geelong is expected to exceed the minor flood level (2.30 m) Monday afternoon. The river level may peak between 2.30 and 2.60 metres late Tuesday morning. Stay informed - monitor your local conditions and remain alert. SES advises that all community members should:- Never walk, ride or drive through floodwater Never allow children to play in floodwater Stay away from waterways and stormwater drains during and after heavy rain Keep well clear of fallen power lines Be aware that in fire affected areas, rainfall run-off into waterways may contain debris such as ash, soil, trees and rocks, and heavy rainfall increases the potential for landslides and debris across roads.
