21.01.2022 Due to the nature of COVID-19, in recent times we’d taken a break from face-to-face skills maintenance and training to focus only on responding to emergencies. From this week, you might see us back out undertaking training in small groups to ensure we have the essential skills and capability required to respond to an emergency. Emergency services as a permitted industry are able to conduct critical training and exercising under the directions, as endorsed by the Victorian Ch...ief Health Officer. Our crews are following all the COVIDSafe principles, wearing masks and working hard to ensure we are there for our community. Thank you

18.01.2022 VicSES is preparing for what could be a very wet Spring. Our catchments are already wet in some parts of the state with recent flood warnings issued for the Barwon River which briefly reached minor flood level in Geelong at the end of August. The potential of a La Niña this spring is now three-times as likely as a normal year. The last significant La Niña event was in 2010-2011, which had devastating consequences from riverine flooding right across Victoria.... We’re preparing for potential flooding from late September through all of October, and we encourage everyone to do the same. We’ll be sharing more information over the next few weeks. You can get ready by visiting our website: https://www.ses.vic.gov.au/get-ready For SES emergency response, call 132 500 For life-saving emergency response, call 000.
