11.01.2022 Ration Challenge 2020: Banora Point Public School This year our school will be taking part in the Act for Peace Ration Challenge. We have 58 Year 6 students, 20 parents and 1 teacher. So far we have raised over $11,000.... The Ration Challenge asks students to eat the same rations as a refugee for 3 days, and get sponsored to do it. By putting themselves in the shoes of a refugee, they’ll learn about global issues, develop empathy for others and feel empowered to make a difference in the world. The money raised will support refugees and other conflict and disaster affected communities around the world hit hardest by the coronavirus. The Ration Challenge for our students will take place from 15th 17th September 2020. In the lead up to and during this week, the school will seek to help our students learn more about refugees, the experiences of children fleeing their homes due to conflict or violence, while also seeking to give them a safe and empowering way to respond to these issues as a part of the school community, through the Ration Challenge. 09.01.2022 THANK YOU BPPS P&C! A huge THANK YOU to the BPPS P&C who generously prepared such a fabulous morning tea for our staff today. Staff were absolutely thrilled to be treated in this way and we were genuinely moved with the effort taken to do this for us. The thoughtful message just topped it all off, leaving us feeling special and appreciated!
