22.01.2022 First game at Carseldine about to kickoff!

22.01.2022 COVIDsafe Officers needed! We are still in need of some more COVIDsafe Officers before we are able to recommence the competition. Are you an injured player looking for something to do? Do you know someone (over 18) who is interested in earning a bit extra money on Saturday afternoons (12:30-5:15pm) have them contact Peter - [email protected]. Role does NOT require football knowledge. Includes the following:... 1. Ensure all non-playing attendees sign the COVIDsafe register 2. Ensure that all attendees respect the social distancing requirements 3. Monitor the flow of people around the fields to respect social distancing requirements.

21.01.2022 PLAY COVIDsafe! As we return to play, we must follow a new COVIDsafe Plan - this affects Players and Spectators. Attached are a series of images with descriptions covering the basics. The full plan will be made available soon. Please share this with your clubs/teams and supporters, and check back for updates.... Our Refs have been briefed on the requirements so, remember, that on the day, what the ref says, goes.

20.01.2022 No games today! Unfortunately due to the heavy rain sustained last night Darien Street fields are CLOSED. This will mean that ALL Rnd1 (JMC) games scheduled today (including games at John Oxley) have been cancelled. This decision has been made by the BFQ Exec in the interest of player safety and field protection.... Apologies for the late notice, please communicate this to your teams.

20.01.2022 Starting lineup - socially distanced around the centre circle.

20.01.2022 UPDATE: Men's Comp Rd 14 Abandoned With only two rounds left and lots of finals hopes pinned on these last two rounds we gave it our best shot to get enough games played that we could reschedule a few to mid-week catch-ups, but unfortunately, too many of the games have had to be called off so the entire round has had to be Abandoned. Unfortunately, this means that no points will be awarded this round and it will not be replayed as there is simply not enough time to fit it in... before finals. Women's Round - with only a few minutes of heavy rain at Darien St, the women's matches are/have proceeded as planned.

19.01.2022 Carseldine Field Numbering Please note the updated Field Numbering for the Carseldine fields... The draw has been updated to reflect the numbering on the existing signage on buildings etc. Field 3 is the main field in front of the change rooms, and Field 1 is now the small field near the cricket nets.

19.01.2022 COVIDsafe Reminder - all matches are still on for this weekend, but with the recent cases on the Southside its a good reminder that we must keep playing by the BFQ COVIDsafe Plan - IF you have ANY symptoms do NOT play or attend. IF you have had a COVID test and are awaiting results, do NOT play or attend. Please refresh your memory regarding the BFQ requirements by looking through this album and/or looking at the full plan previously posted. Enjoy your matches!

This timeline will also include some twilight football. Early next week, the BFQ Executive Management Committee is meeting to finalise our plans. We will let you know as soon as our plans are in place.

Please share with your clubs and church communities. Primary roles include keeping an attendance register of all spectators at matches and ensuring that COVIDsafe practices are followed. You will need to be available for the whole afternoon (both matches) and need to be 18+. For further info and to register your expression of interest, please email Peter at [email protected]

16.01.2022 SEASON 2020 UPDATE: 12th May 2020 We hope you are all coping well in this isolation environment we are in. Whilst it has been tough, the indications are that it is working and an end may be in sight. As you are all aware, both the State and Commonwealth Governments have been making a number of statements regarding the relaxation of restrictions. The BFQ Executive Management Committee has been monitoring these closely.... As we stand, we believe that there is an opportunity emerging that we may be able to get back to football this season. Under the Queensland Governments plan, the reinstatement of community sport is contained within level 3, with levels 1 and 2 allowing for some restricted training and the commencement of non-contact sport. At this stage, BFQ is looking to recommence the season in late July following the school holidays. We are looking at how we may be able to extend the season, but those plans are not yet in place. This said, it will of course be dependent upon restrictions in place by the Government, and any other announcements. So, in summary, we are planning to resume the BFQ football season in the second half of July, so you can all use this to start planning with your teams and clubs. I will keep you all informed as much as I can as we move towards this time. Until then, on behalf of BFQ, please remain safe and well, and ensure you comply with the restrictions in place. This is how you can help us to play football again. Peter Noyes Secretary, BFQ inc.

16.01.2022 BFQ 2020 SEASON RECOMMENCEMENT The season will resume on Saturday 18 July and will conclude with grand finals on Saturday 28 November 2020. There will be NO games during the school holidays, and from September, twilight games under lights will commence. CLUB CONTACTS - RECONFIRM TEAMS FOR SEASON ASAP!... Club contacts should have received an email from our Secretary. You MUST send a return email ASAP confirming if your teams ARE or ARE NOT going to be playing so that we can finalise the draws for the remainder of the season. CLUB CONTACTS + ALL TEAM MANAGERS: COVIDsafe PLAN - COMPULSORY SPECIAL ZOOM MEETING - 7pm, MONDAY 6 JULY In order for BFQ to recommence as a competition, we have had to develop a COVIDsafe Plan to identify how we will comply with the Governments level 3 restrictions. This plan contains a number of strategies and actions that teams and officials will need to do on a weekly basis to be compliant. Login details of the ZOOM meeting will be sent out to Club Contacts this week to share with your managers. In this instance Club Contacts CANT represent multiple teams. Every TEAM must have a representative at the meeting. Any TEAM not represented at this meeting will NOT be considered to be COVID registered for the year.

15.01.2022 Reminder: Wet Weather Procedure Assume games are ON unless told otherwise. Check the website and Facebook regularly for updates and managers please keep an eye on your emails. ... COVIDsafe reminder - regardless of the time of your game we ask that you only arrive WITHIN 25 mins of your kickoff and that you are fully kitted up before walking to the field.

15.01.2022 Club/team managers: Team nominations are due by this Sunday 1 March 2020. You need to supply: 1. Team Nomination Forms for each team, including suggested division... 2. Club Contact Forms. See more

15.01.2022 TWILIGHT FOOTBALL! Its time to play under lights! As the weather warms up, please make sure that you all carefully check your game times. This week we are switching over to our Twilight Schedule for the remainder of the season. Games will be at 5pm and 7:15pm.

14.01.2022 SEASON 2020 UPDATE: 7th April 2020 As previously indicated, we would provide an update around Easter based on current conditions... Given the status of the current COVID-19 event, I dont think it would be a surprise to anyone that we will have to extend our current no-play status.... At this stage, we will again review the situation at the start of JUNE. Any decision to play or not play will, of course, be dependent upon Government restrictions and directions etc in place at that time. As we stand, BFQ is still hoping that we will, at some stage, get a late start to the season. It is our plan at the moment that we could play right through till November, with most of our games at night. We are very blessed to have access to multiple fields with lights. Until such time as we communicate again, please make sure that you and your loved ones stay safe and healthy, and that you follow any Government directions and restrictions. Peter Noyes Secretary, BFQ inc.

14.01.2022 Road to the Final! This round is our Semi-Finals... Head up to Deception Bay and John Oxley to check out the action. Make sure to take note of the earlier game times. The women's comp season is also still running at Darien St. at normal times.

12.01.2022 COVID update 22nd August 10:30am Matches still ON New restrictions have come into place across Brisbane this morning. So far as we are currently aware this does not affect community sport operating under a COVIDsafe plan. This is an evolving situation so please continue to check for updates and make sure to follow our COVIDsafe plan carefully and stay safe. ... If you have any symptoms whatsoever you are NOT to play OR attend.

12.01.2022 COVID-19 Update 17/3/20 5:25pm BFQ Competition SUSPENDED until after Easter It is unfortunate, and understandably many of you will be very disappointed, but to keep in line with football across the country and the latest announcement from FFA, all grassroots football will be suspended from now until April 14. ... We will re-assess and inform everyone around that time as to what will happen next with the BFQ season. Club managers are being notified by email as well, but the future updates regarding the season/COVID-19 will come first through Facebook so that you are all kept in the loop as efficiently as possible. We are always keen to enable people to play the beautiful game whenever possible, but we also have a role to play as responsible citizens during this time and respect those in Govt. and healthcare whose responsibility it is to guide us through it. Thank you for your understanding, and we hope that you are able to make excellent use of the extra time you now have to spend with family over the next month.

11.01.2022 COVIDsafe reminder: IMPORTANT! Thanks to everyone who has been following the plan, however, it has been brought to our attention of 2 main areas of non-compliance in recent matches... it is ESSENTIAL that EVERYONE continues to abide by the BFQ COVIDsafe Plan or we risk not being able to complete the season. As such we will, unfortunately, be moving to fines and points penalties if non-compliance continues... Please make sure to work with your teammates so that we can keep our... comp going. 1) Players cannot get changed at the field. They must be fully dressed, including jerseys, socks, boots etc, before they leave the carpark, or before they enter the field and its surrounds. And similarly, they must leave the grounds fully dressed in their playing strip, and they can get changed in the carpark or outside the playing field and its surrounds. There is also to be no jersey swapping. 2) Players must not leave the technical area during the game to talk to friends and family. This is based on keeping our players separated from the spectators to ensure the risk of infection remains low. Our COVID Officers are part of our Match Officials team and are there to do a job that enables us to continue to run the competition - please help them out by doing the right thing (both players and spectators). Any obstructive or argumentative behaviour towards them will not be tolerated.

02.01.2022 Corona Virus Update 13/3/20 (8:30pm): Good evening All, We are all very aware of the current issues surrounding sporting events and corona virus. The latest information we have to hand is that it is quite likely that any event where 500+ spectators are expected will most likely need to be cancelled postponed or rescheduled. This will NOT affect scheduled BFQ games at this point in time.... We do however acknowledge the need to put measures in place to limit the spread of the virus if it presents itself. As a proactive measure we are taking the following actions. 1/ Ceremonial Greetings prior to the commencement of games with the shaking of hands by players and officials will be suspended until further notice. 2/ Same will apply to shaking after games. 3/ Players should not share personal equipment such as shin pads, drink bottles and towels. 4/ If any of your players are suffering from a fever, headache, flu like symptoms they should be stood down until they show no symptoms. 5/ Please take a common sense approach to personal hygiene around our grounds. Please continue to check back here and on the bfq.org.au website for potential changes as this is an evolving situation.

01.01.2022 Missing: iPhone X Did you play or watch a game at Darien Street yesterday and notice an iPhone X that had lost its human? Perhaps in the carpark... Please share with your team if you were there, and let us know if you found it so that we can reconnect the pair.

01.01.2022 MATCH DAY! After a long delay, were finally here... Please remember to check your field and match times and arrive within 25mins of your kickoff (12:35pm to 1pm and 2:50pm to 3:15pm). Everyone needs to leave the grounds post-match so the next group can arrive. Starting procedure for matches - instead of the standard lineup along the half way, we will now be lining up, socially distanced, around the centre circle (see image below). Thank you everyone for your support and have fun!
