23.01.2022 Meet Sophia Sophia is one of our passionate NDIS Developmental Educators. She helps our clients achieve their goals by providing behaviour support, working with both our clients and their families. Goals can be emotional, or practical, like learning to catch the bus or managing money. The first step is always listening to a client and determining their individual needs, goals and expectations, then breaking their goals down into smaller actions that we can work on togethe...r, says Sophia. Identifying a client’s goals is important, as is adjusting those goals as needed for example when a person has reached their goal or is having difficulty achieving them. I always try to give every client my full attention and help them to feel comfortable it’s important they are in control of how our relationship grows. I have a client who wasn’t sure about me when we first met, but we’ve built a great relationship. I took note of the way he wanted us to work together and I respected that. I also found out a lot about him from others who work with him at Baptist Care SA. He doesn’t like to meet in a home setting, so we meet in cafes or parks.
