20.01.2022 Congratulations to our Baptistcare Graceford residents who were voted best presented team at the recent Live_Lighter Aged Care games. This year, the team went out as the ‘Mad Hatters Tea Party’ and were voted best presented team, which is a significant achievement said Zoey Madzongo, Lifestyle Coordinator at Baptistcare Graceford. Every year, the Seniors Recreation Council of WA Inc. hosts the Live_Lighter Aged Care games in different regions across WA. Our Baptistcare ...Graceford residents love being part of that community and have participated for the past 10 years. Residents start practicing as part of our weekly floor games for the competition which are mainly skittles, beanbag toss, pass ball and seated hockey . The teams are so competitive, you should see how much energy they get in preparation for these games, said Zoey. One Baptistcare Graceford resident, Pat Abbott, has been a competitor in these games for the last 11 years . Well done to our team and residents at Baptistcare Graceford!
18.01.2022 When residents at Baptistcare Morrison Gardens in Midland requested for one of their favourite themed activities, our team could not resist to go all out! Wild Wild West Week is a firm favourite according to Carla Rowe, the Lifestyle Coordinator at Baptistcare Morrison Gardens. The team got creative and organised a different activity each afternoon. Boot scooting, panning for gold, hanging out at the saloon, Western movie sessions , (served with ice cream) and even an aft...ernoon at the casino were some of the activities planned. As you can see, they had a lot of fun .

17.01.2022 The art of letter-writing is alive and well thanks to the lovely students from the Eastern Hills Senior High School, who finally got to meet their pen-pals from Baptistcare Yallambee Residential Care in Mundaring. The group of Year 12 students started writing to residents in April this year after the COVID-19 lockdown scuppered their Term 2 plans for weekly one-on-one visits. Leanne Ruggiero, the Lifestyle Coordinator at Baptistcare Yallambee, said it was wonderful to se...e both generations so interested in each other’s lives . To finally be able to meet their pen-pals face-to-face was emotional at times, but so special and enjoyable for the residents.

16.01.2022 In support of Movember Australia, our team and the gentlemen who live at Baptistcare Yallambee in Mundaring got together to raise funds and awareness on men’s mental health over a delicious sausage sizzle and ice cream . #Movember is a leading global charity that invites men to grow a moustache during the month of November to raise awareness of men's health issues. 16.01.2022 Our Baptistcare Bethel residents in Albany enjoyed their first summer’s day of 20 degrees with a delicious, cold milkshake . Residents were all smiles, as they reminisced about their local milk bars and favourite sweets they would buy in their younger days. The day was extra special for one resident who confessed she hasn’t had a milkshake in over 40 years according to Catherine Lochhead, Lifestyle Coordinator at Baptistcare Bethel.
16.01.2022 Kim Jordan, Lifestyle Coordinator at Baptistcare Gracehaven Residential Care in Rockingham had always planned to celebrate her 50th birthday with a trip home to Belfast in Northern Ireland this year. Unfortunately, with COVID-19 putting international travel on hold, Kim decided to commemorate the milestone by completing a bucket list of 50 challenges . To give her inspiration, Kim’s enlisted the help of residents at Baptistcare Gracehaven in coming up with the 50 advent...ures to tick off before she turns 51 next year. Some of her challenges include ‘goat yoga’, going blonde for a day, archery and snorkelling with the sharks !
14.01.2022 It’s Remembrance Day today and our teams and residents across WA wore their red poppies proudly . All Australians are urged to remember those who died or who suffered in all wars and armed conflicts. This is particularly relevant as some of our residents and customers were born during World War One and nearly all of them lived through World War Two and subsequent conflicts.... Today, we honour and remember all who served or are serving to protect our nation. Lest we forget. #RemembranceDay
13.01.2022 Our team and residents at Baptistcare Yallambee in Mundaring recently celebrated Oktoberfest in true German style with traditional food, beer and merrymaking! The party took place in the beautifully decorated dining room, where residents were treated to a German lunch prepared by our chef. Everyone enjoyed posing for a photo with various German words, food, drinks and of course, a great singalong , said Leanne Ruggiero, the Lifestyle Coordinator at Baptistcare Yallambee.
11.01.2022 Every year, residents, their families and our team at Baptistcare Moonya in Manjimup look forward to an afternoon of AFL footy tipping, competing to see who comes out on top of the ladder! This season was a shocker due to COVID-19, but to keep the spirits up, Gabby our footy tipping Therapy Partner ploughed on, said Suzette Starling, Lifestyle Coordinator. Our footy tipping activity is extra special as it pays tribute to a much-loved resident who was a true-blue Eagles... supporter said Suzette. After the competition, winners received trophies and the lowest tipper received the wooden spoon award. There was also a special presentation and a footy-themed afternoon tea. Everyone had a wonderful afternoon! Each year we get a little bit bigger and better.

02.01.2022 Every year, a few of our residents at Baptistcare Graceford are invited to display their works of art at the Perth Royal Show and attend a special High Tea , away from the crowds. Due to COVID-19, this much-loved tradition was cancelled and our fabulous team decided to bring the Royal Show to Baptistcare Graceford instead! The ‘Graceford Mini Royal Show’ was a fun day for all. Our amazing team pulled out all the stops and it was well worth it .... Residents loved the live music and shows, farm animals onsite , barbeque lunch , ice cream cart and the pavilion bake competition stand with one of our residents who has been a baker being the main judge. It was an amazing experience for our team and residents. We had residents who had been declining to come outdoors for a while now since lockdown and I could not tell who stayed in their rooms as they all came out with smiles on their faces, it was amazing, said Zoey Madzongo, the Lifestyle Coordinator at Baptistcare Graceford. Congratulations to the team for pulling off such a marvellous day for residents!
