23.01.2022 Early one morning, Tasmin Ara* was forced to flee her house in Myanmar with her children as soldiers began to burn the village and attack the people. They made it to Bangladesh where they received support. But now because of covid lockdowns, her sons have not been able to get daily work to afford food. "I am very grateful that my family has been provided with hygiene supplies such as masks, soap and washing detergent so we can keep clean and protect ourselves from coronavirus...." Thank you for your generosity that makes this happen! Please consider giving generously to keep helping families like Tasmin Ara's survive covid. baptistworldaid.org.au/covid-19-global-emergency/ *Name changed for protection reasons.

22.01.2022 Millions of vulnerable children are being exposed to even higher levels of risk during this pandemic. As many as 1.5 BILLION children have lost precious weeks and months of educational progress, not only here in Australia, but around the world. According to the UN children are being affected by COVID in 3 main ways:... Infection of the virus itself; Immediate socioeconomic impacts of measures to stop transmission of the virus; and longer-term effects of delayed implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals Please keep praying for children, parents, and teacher, both here in Australia, but also around the world who don't have the same access to technology, support, and resources the way we do.

19.01.2022 Long-term change in the global fashion industry will require collaboration. Fashion supply chains are complex - all the way from the cotton field to cutting and sewing the final product. And despite their different styles, headquarters and price points, many of the world’s biggest fashion companies share suppliers... which means that supply chain challenges will not be solved by any one consumer, brand, NGO, or government. Please continue to lift up the voices of garment workers, as you make ethical fashion choices. Remember... each of your small actions can lead to long-term change when we all work together!

17.01.2022 Each morning, the team that takes your calls and responds to your emails, meets together to pray for you! Here is Emily's prayer for you today.

17.01.2022 Big Hearted Gift cards are back! These were your favourite cards last Christmas! That means you helped families feed their children and stay healthy. 13.01.2022 Each day, your Supporter Care team starts with praying for YOU. Here is a prayer for you today from Supporter Engagement Manager, Renee. "Jesus, I pray for our community today and bring us all together before you. I pray that wherever we find ourselves today, we know your grace, peace and patience. May we know your joy in the small things and see your answered prayers before us. We thank you for the ways you have already been working in our lives during this time.... Jesus, I pray for the lonely today, may we feel you close. I pray for those who are not alone but feel the burden of being lonely. May you be close by comfort and friend. I pray for those who are separated from friends and family who cannot visit, but wish they could - give them hope and fill them with memories of good times past. I pray for the weary, may you give us rest. May you restore us to energy. Jesus, I pray for those whom illness slows them down, drags them across town to appointments, and for those in pain. We know you are healer and listener. Jesus, we ask to know you more this season. Amen"

05.01.2022 Your Christian partner in Bangladesh has served communities in poverty for 29 years. COVID has greatly impacted their work with Rohingya refugees. "Before covid, children came to child-friendly spaces where they could study, learn, play and make friendships. But when I visited the community in June to distribute hygiene materials and PPE, things were very different. Now due to covid restrictions, children cannot go outside, they are staying inside in very small facilities and... they cannot meet with their friends. They have become very depressed." Thank you for your generosity towards children and families like those in Bangladesh. You are making a real difference in these hard times.

Allow Beth to introduce you to Ook Meng, an elderly farmer who plays an important role in improving the lives of those around him. baptistworldaid.org.au/fellowship-and-hope/
