24.01.2022 Fairy Bread Day is an initiative of Reachout.com to raise awareness of youth mental health. ReachOut is Australia’s leading online mental health organisation for young people and their parents. ReachOut provides all the information young people need to navigate through everyday issues to serious tough times. We did this activity on Fairy Bread Day Tuesday 24 November, for the Junior Secondary school group with Chappy Luke and School-Based Health Nurse Lyndsay.

17.01.2022 On Friday the 19th of March 2021, Baralaba State School will be holding their annual Cross Country. If you would like to come cheer on our students, you’re welcome to come to Power Street and cheer from outside the school grounds next to the car park. Attached is a poster informing everyone of the road closures for the day. Thank you for your understanding and we hope you see you there.

17.01.2022 It's time to get the kids' costumes organised for our annual "Dress as Your Favourite Book Character" Parade! It will be held on Tuesday 20th October in the Undercover Area. This is a Baralaba State School student only event due to Covid-19 restrictions. This unfortunately means that family and community members are unable to attend. We know how much fun this event is for our students and we encourage everyone (Staff included) to dress up. We can't wait to see all the amazing costumes!

16.01.2022 Book Fair is on its last days. Today and tomorrow are your last chances to get in and make a purchase at the Book Fair. Books start at $5. We have posters large $4 and small $2. We have journals, pens, rubbers, calculators and other stationery items as well. Every purchase of a book puts you in the draw to win 8 great prizes plus you get a free book mark. Remember this is a student only event. Don't forget to send money or an online payment in with your child before the fair is over. Have a wonderful day.

13.01.2022 The Book Fair is open tomorrow! The Prep to Year 10 students will be given time to make their Book Fair purchases on Wednesday 21 October in class time. The Kindy students will be given time to make their Book Fair purchases on Thursday 22 October in Period 3 at 12:35pm to 12:50pm. Tomorrow will be the best day to send in money or online payments for your child to make their purchases. Please see below for when your child will be visiting the Book Fair: Prep/Year One - 9:0...0am to 9:30am Year 1/2 - 10:50am to 11:15am Year 3/4 - 11:20am to 11:45am Year 5/6 - 12:35pm to 12:50pm Year 7 - 12:50pm to 1:05pm Year 8 - 1:05pm to 1:20pm Year 9/10 - 1:20pm to 1:30pm The online payment method is the safest way of making a purchase rather than sending money in with your child. In order to complete an online payment visit: www.scholastic.com.au/payment Be sure to choose Book Fairs payments, not Book Club. You will receive an 8-digit receipt number with your credit card payment. Record your receipt number on the wish list and send the list back to school with your child. If you do not wish to pay online, you may send money to school with your child. 13.01.2022 The P&C will be holding a food stall at the Christmas Markets which will be held on Friday 4th December from 4pm to 7pm in the school park. So come along and support this festive event. Students will be given the opportunity in their library lesson to write wish lists to bring home. These wish lists will have the title and price of each book written on it, along with the details of how you can pay for these items online. The online payment method is the safest way of making a purchase rather than sending money in with your child. Maintain positive body posture (calm, confident). Think positive self-esteem statements. Count to five in your head slowly. Take deep breaths. 4. Walk Away Stand tall, head up high. Mouth closed. Look confident. Do not use eye contact. Walk somewhere, preferably towards a congested area or to a safe place (with a staff member). Do not look back. Walk confidently, don't run. 5. Report Walk away and tell a staff member. Go to a safe area. Ask other students for support and to help report. Report, report, report until somebody listens.
