23.01.2022 Yesterday morning I was on my way to visit a new customer, when I received a frantic call from her wanting to know what sort of advertising I had on my car. You see, she has the WORST nosy neighbour who loves to gossip, and she hasn't made it public knowledge that she has had treatment for breast cancer. She was so relieved when I calmly reassured her that we don't have any branding on our cars so the neighbours would have no idea why I was there. When Barbara started the business 10 years ago, she made a conscious decision to put her customers first. Yes, advertising on our cars would be a great idea from a business perspective as we are all over the place, but it should be your decision who you tell about your life, not ours! #ssshhhhh #secretsquirrel #sambc #breastcancer

23.01.2022 We just wanted to let you know that we are both going above and beyond to protect our customers and ourselves during this crazy time. We are keeping up to date with the recommendations from the Department of Health, and are being regularly updated by the hospitals that we visit to ensure that we are following (and exceeding) any protocols that are in place. Remember that if you are currently undergoing or recovering from chemotherapy your immune system is compromised, makin...g you vulnerable to not only contract Covid-19, but to get sicker with it. We will chat to you on the phone and make an assessment as to when we think the best time for your fitting would be. This may mean waiting a few weeks, but your health is our main concern. We are still doing fittings, but insist on wearing masks, glasses and gloves to ensure your protection. If one (or both) of us start to display any symptoms, we will immediately suspend all fittings until given the 'all clear' by our GP. They have been tirelessly campaigning for so long for SA to be included in the compression garment subsidy scheme that every state except SA has had access to. There are physical and psychological changes in a woman's body during and after treatment that can affect all aspects of your life. Even if you are currently not in a relationship, I think that there is a lot to benefit from by watching this webinar. What a great opportunity to address those questions that are quite often too awkward to ask your surgeon, oncologist or GP.
