18.01.2022 There were some BRAVE Scotchies today in the Webb Science quad shaving or cutting their hair to raise money for the Leukaemia Foundations Worlds Greatest S...have! This dynamic group of Scotchies have been raising funds to empower families facing blood cancer and to accelerate blood cancer research - helping the Leukaemia Foundation to reach their bold goal of zero lives lost to blood cancer by 2035. A MASSIVE thank you to Barbers of Mitcham Haircutters for giving their time and talent to support our Scotchies. The students have raised $18,379.73 so far - comfortably exceeding their goal of $15,000! What an effort! Congratulations to the brave sould who wnet under the clippers: Rosie Alderson, Ella Ifould, Lily Atsikbasis, Eddie Hesketh, Tom Moorhouse, Jack Bushell, Billy Starling, Sam Titus, Henry Fuss, Sophie Martens, Ella Pascoe, Sophia Glynatsis and Isla Woods. Mr Liam Hay bravely had student participants shave his beard! Many of the ponytails snipped will be turned into wigs for those with cancer, while shorter hair clippings will be transformed into compost and even floating booms to absorb oil spills at sea.
