24.01.2022 Update: GOOD NEWS! Cubs and Scouts are back on next Monday night the 18th of February. Our Region Commissioner John Finn aka Pengana is able to help run the program for the night. Please disregard the information given below. Barcaldine Scout Group regretfully advises that there will be no Cubs and Scouts meeting on Monday 18th of February due to Leader shortage. Unforeseen circumstances have arisen which will make too many of our Leaders unavailable for that night.... We will be back on again on Monday 25th February

07.01.2022 Barcaldine Scout Group are seeking people who are interested in helping our youth to learn essential life skills such as leadership, respect for others, self-sufficiency and self-confidence all while having fun. No prior experience is necessary. All training is provided by Scouts Qld and the Scouts Australia Institute of Training - you can also obtain nationally recognised qualifications such as a Certificate III in Business and/or a Certificate IV in Leadership and Management. If you are interested in joining our team and becoming a Leader for one of our sections (particularly for Scouts aged 11-14, Cubs aged 8-10, and then Joeys 5-7 and Venturers 15-17) then please contact us through this page, or contact our Group Leader Dave Ramage on 0427 589 819 or [email protected]

05.01.2022 Don't forget - we are all back this Monday for 6pm start. See you there :)

02.01.2022 Cubs and Scouts starts back again 6pm Monday 4th February. This year we're making the program bigger and better than before. That means more camping, outdoor skills, games and fun! If you have a child aged between 7 and 10 we have Cub spaces available, or 11 to 14 we can start a waitlist for the Scout troop (or the kids can join if we get another Leader! ). We need at least 2 adult Leaders per section before we can open the Joey (5 and in grade 1 to 7), Venturers (15 t...o 17) or Rover (18 to 25) sections. We also need a Treasurer. All training is provided by Scouts Qld, and there is no requirement for any previous experience in Scouting, camping, etc. You don't even need to have kids of your own! All you need is an interest in helping the youth of our community to build their skills, character and resilience in all areas of life, and to be eligible for a Working With Children Blue Card.
