23.01.2022 Council has anoused the closure of most sporting facilities, this includes our pools, Please do not panic, this is a cautionary measure to help protect our community, and we thank the Barcaldine Council for the dission to protect our community,

21.01.2022 I’m am so proud of Ava...a Silver Medal in her 100 mtr Backstroke today at the CQ Championships. A massive achievement. Our Barcy kids have been continually di...sadvantaged due to their training times being cut back this season. They have had whole sessions cut from their program due to club access restrictions at the pool. Most competitive swimmers can train up to 3 -4 hours a day, 6 days a week...our kids can only train 1.4 -2 hours a day, 5 days a week...IMAGINE what the results would be in the pool if Ava had the same opportunity as her competition. I’m NOT saying this as the President and wish to keep my 2 roles seperate, I’m saying this as her Mother. Too see Ava do so well is an absolute credit to herself and her Coach, the commitment and determination that Ava has for her swimming is phenomenal and we owe all that to Geoffrey. He could have thrown his hands in the air and give up plenty of times but he could see Ava’s commitment and hung in there for her and her teammates. The early mornings, the tired days at school, missing out on so much school has certainly paid off for both of them. This Medal shows so much more than finishing 2nd in a race, this medal shows it’s all been worth while....the absolute shit that we have had to put up with at the pool to get this far is beyond belief and has been an absolute joke these last few seasons. I definitely know who I WONT be voting for in the local election coming up that’s for sure! I just hope Ava gets a fair go next season and be able to stick it to them knowing her and her coach can mix it with the best of them. Given half a chance, that silver could definitely be a gold next year I reckon. GO BARCY GO THE A TEAM GO COACH

18.01.2022 Due to the recent recommendations made by the Australian Resuscitation Council on the 19th March, Alpha Learn to Swim advises all First Aid, CPR, Lifeguard and ...Swim Australia courses will be suspended until further notice. (including all junior first aid courses). The position will be reviewed on the 1st May 2020. Alpha Learn to Swim has made this decision to align with the Australian Resuscitation Council’s current recommendations. We will continue to work closely with our RTO’s, and will advise when training recommences. For our valued clients who have qualifications expiring during this period, please make contact to discuss your options in remaining workplace compliant.

12.01.2022 Closure of the Barcaldine pool for the season, I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Barcaldine Council for entrusting their pool in my care for th...e past 8 season, The pool has being a big part of our home & life, with everything else having to take a back seat for eight months of the year, this means for the first time in 8yrs we will be able to spend a Easter & Christmas with our families & attend family birthdays, these are just some of the things that I missed, I will miss the pool & the children & friends made along the way, A big thank you to Jenny Lawrence & Brett Walsh for entrusting our pool in my care, I am sorry for the grey hairs I caused you both, my wish list still stand a 6x lane indoor pool splash pads & slides, the pool has being our home for the past 8yrs, with all the late night visits with Brett checking pumps cleaning gutters at 2am I will not miss this, I wish the next leases all the best and hope he loves & enjoys the life at the pool as much as we have, Please remember to be kind, as you get what you give! a big thank you to Kim & Kate Williams for all your support in my early times, A special thank you to everyone that helped along the way. 12.01.2022 I would like to thank everyone that supported myself over the past eight years, While I was the leasee of your pool A bit late coming I know but due to circumst...ances out of our control, I had to put every thing on hold, I would like to wish all the children all the best in their future, I am having a book published for the children which will be donated to the library, I will be using some of my photos collected over the past 8yrs,, If you do not want your childs photo in this book please email or inbox and I will remove them if there are any in there, or if you have a favorite photo of your child at the pool and would like it in the book if you send me a copy I will do my best to put it in the book, We will miss all the children they were such a big part of our lifes, Mums and Dads you should be so proud of your children. I feel sorry for the next pool operator trying to keep them little ones out of the canteen LOL See more

03.01.2022 Keeping Track After reading a article in the Courier mail, Push to tag DV culprits, About time all victims deserve to be safe not looking over thei...r shoulders, All victims should have the freedom to walk down the street, live in their homes fear free, Attend work without the fear of the perpetrator attacking them whether its physical mental or verbal, These people are the scum who pry on intimidating people, Lets take a stand to keep our children safe and protect our families, why are these people allowed on our streets, allowed to attend our sporting facilities, Parks & events, when most victims live in fear. 03.01.2022 I learnt the meaning of mixed emotions yesterday, happiness, sadness and joy, These are the all the emotions I felt yesterday, Happy I will be able to visit fam...ily & friends, Sad because I will miss all my little friends you all have being such a big part of our lives for so long, Joy I have when I think of all the fun times and the funny & some times embarrassing question & comments out the mouths of babes, you have all become like my family and we will miss all of you, We have being so spoilt with the best bunch of children, parents should be so proud of their children and their manners, I would like to thank all my little shop asssistance for all their help over the past eight year, a hole new meaning to free child labour, you made my life at the pool so easy, How could anyone say no to your little faces, Swim hard and enjoy the best sport, We will see you all next year at the pool as we will continue to swim and be involved in the sport we love, Feeling very spoilt, remember to be kind and friendly to everyone, all our love Brett & Paula See more
