13.01.2022 Team App is now up and running. If you have it installed, please use the App to indicate availability to play tennis fixtures tonight. If not yet on Team App, please go to the App Store or Google Play and download Team App onto your mobile device and follow these simple steps: 1. Sign-up to Team App... 2. Log-in and search for Barcaldine Tennis, then request to become a member. If you don't have a smartphone or would prefer to receive email correspondence, please let Tony know via email to request to be added manually. 08.01.2022 Tennis Qld has recently advised a further winding back of restrictions. 07.01.2022 Hi all Barcaldine Regional Council has announced the re-opening of sporting facilities including the Barcaldine Tennis Courts from Saturday 16 May. Members and social players are now able to use the tennis courts for community and social play subject to some limitations. Tennis Qld has provided the following guidelines: Clubhouse remains closed for now. Courts are available only at this time. Gatherings are limited to groups of 10 people max at a time. ... Social distancing of 1.5m must be maintained. No unnecessary co-mingling, especially outside of the sporting facility - Get in, play, get out. Apply personal hygiene measures even when on court. Maintain regular hand hygiene: before, during and after taking part in any activity. Use your own personal drink bottles, equipment and towels only. At this stage, the use of the courts is limited to social play only - no larger group activities or fixture competitions are available yet. As a result, junior community coaching is also not available until further notice. As always, you must not attend if you: Have been in contact with someone with COVID-19 in the last 14 days Have flu-like symptoms. If you are in a vulnerable or high risk health category, you are encouraged to stay home. We hope all senior and junior players are able to take the opportunity to enjoy the tennis facilities under these arrangements. Please use discretion and observe sensible social distancing if others are present while you are there e.g. play every second court where practical. We will keep members posted of further developments as announcements are made. If there are any questions, please call Tony on 0410 522041.

02.01.2022 We are pleased to advise that tennis competition is able to resume soon, although under slightly different arrangements to the past. Our schedule is: Tues 28 July - social tennis/sign-on/meet and greet so that we can register and grade new players and plan for fixture start. A great opportunity to brush off some cobwebs.... Tues 4 August - commence fixtures with a full season to run to end of November (excluding September school holidays). Anyone who has paid fees in Season 1 - these will carry forward to season 2. Due to current TQ restrictions, we need to make some changes, particularly: No handshakes on-court - please use racquet touches for now. For the immediate future, no meals will be served at the clubhouse. Players will need to make own arrangements for meals. If you bring a meal please bring implements so that we don't need to use the facilities at the clubhouse. Drinks will be on sale but no cash taken. We will advise alternatives next week. Players and visitors must adhere to social distancing requirements. It is important players do not attend if unwell. Seating areas in the clubhouse will be limited and spaced. We will publish any other information as changes come to hand. If you cannot make the social tennis on Tuesday, please confirm you still wish to be included in a team for this season by reply email or phone/text Tony on 0410 522041. Also, if you know of others who wish to be included, please encourage them to come on Tuesday or call to register. We look forward to seeing everyone back on court again soon.
