25.01.2022 Today I took a drive to Toogong to collect 2 Alpacas. They will be in isolation for a few weeks to make sure they are not carriers of any undesirables. The folk I got them off know nothing much about them except the brown one is female and the other male! I was hoping to put them straight in with our ewes and lambs as guard animals but they have a few lumps and bumps on them so it’s no mixing with the other animals until they settle in and I am confident they are safe to mix. #alpacas #barcoosfarmstay #visitbathurstnsw
25.01.2022 Taking a couple of days break in our caravan, the excuse a dog agility seminar at Parkes-cancelled because of rain, and tomorrow a mock agility trial, and the way it’s been bucketing down this evening it will probably be canned too! But Charlie Brown and Scooter are snug and dry in the van and I’m guessing really don’t give tuppence! (Now there’s an old term for you to ponder!). After years of drought I certainly don’t have an issue with the rain and the abundance of green after years of brown, and any excuse to use our lovely van is acceptable! Charlie Brown and Scooter travel so well we have to look in the back seat every now and then to make sure we didn’t leave them at the last stop!!!

25.01.2022 On Sunday we had Hannah come out and visit us for a Farm Experience that her family won as a part of the Bathurst Regional Council and Bathurst Business Hub Staycation prize package! The Staycation is aimed at encouraging Bathurst locals to explore their own back yard which is a great idea given these unprecedented times where travelling is discouraged. It was a pleasure to have Hannah and her family out for a visit, we hope to see you all again and wish you all the best wi...th your dream of one day becoming a vet!! #staycation #visitbathurst
24.01.2022 A special 5 Star Google Review (there are lots of them on Google!), We do have availability this coming weekend if you can come and join in the fun. Our Farmhouse and Valley View Unit is available, it's forecast to be hot but both have aircon, and we'll be doing animal activities early and late in the day to escape during the middle of the day. Flat Rock, Wallaby Rocks and Manning Aquatic Centre are superb spots to cool down! From Shaun Murphy This farm experience was wort...h every cent, we arrived a little early to make sure we were on time. We were greeted by Paris and Catherine who showed us around this beautiful farm. Our kids loved feeding Penny the lamb, the alpacas, the chickens and ducks, and the highlight was definitely feeding Pattie the sheep while she showed us her tricks and the pony rides with Zara and cute little hunter. We all loved our time there and will be back for sure. Thankyou for having a us and making us feel so welcome. We will be recommending this experience to all of our friends. See more
24.01.2022 Scooter keeping the tiny lamb company, just all very cute!
24.01.2022 We’ve had a last minute cancellation for next weekend in our Valley View Unit. So if you’re looking for something to do on the first weekend of the school holidays, come and join us for a few days of fun! Just click the link in the comments, this won’t last long as we're currently booked out until November! As you can see by the picture, our dog races are serious business. The loser of this race between siblings had to do the dishes for a week, so Connor dropped his cart and sprinted for the finish line in the hope of avoiding the washing up! Sadly, it was all in vain. We wish you a great week of dish-washing Connor, thanks for coming and visiting us!
23.01.2022 A little surprise today, welcome little Kaitlyn and please thrive.
23.01.2022 Another fun training day at Drage Dogs with Lyn Madden. Charlie Brown spoils me he’s so clever, and ‘nutcase’ Scooter makes me laugh and sweat! Only a short run for CB today until we get a clearance/answers from a Specialist Cardiologist Vet in Sydney on Friday! - Fingers crossed it’s a clearance!
22.01.2022 A very special moment with Prudence our Clydesdale and a VIP guest. #farmstays #clydesdales #visitbathurstnsw #barcoosfarmstays
21.01.2022 After feed time cuddles - Jaiden, Claudia, Scooter, and Charlie Brown. The lambs are now 4 days old and going really well. Lana and Clay, still living inside during this icy blast! Currently 2C and feels like -2.4C!!!!

20.01.2022 Have you ever used those touchscreens at Visitors Information Centres? We are about to start to be seen on them throughout the state. I am really pleased with the artwork the company has created for Barcoos. This is one screenshot that will be featured.
20.01.2022 A recent exciting Google Review - Take this from a teenage girl who’s lived in cities all my life - I had a ton of fun at Barcoos. I got to ride a horse on my own for the first time - by far my favourite experience of 2020. Going on the trampoline with other kids after the sessions were awesome too and I got to make new friends. The view is really pretty - nothing like what you can see in the city. The days always end with the most beautiful sunsets . The amazing staff also... always makes sure you’re having a good time and are very knowledgeable about the farm. When they took my family and another family on a tour, they were always ready to answer any questions and don’t hesitate to give you interesting facts when you need em :). Playing fetch with the dogs on the massive land also made the tour 10x better! The best way to learn about what farms are like is experience what it’s like yourself, and Barcoos couldn’t be a better spot for that. I had such a wonderful experience that I would give more stars if I could. I don’t see why anyone would give this place a bad review :) See more
19.01.2022 Clay and Lana, enjoying a snuggle in Charlie Brown’s bed!! This pair came on Monday afternoon after their mum died soon after they were born. They are tiny but getting stronger with each feed. #poddylambs , #farmstaysbathurst, #barcoosfarmstay
18.01.2022 Miss Prudence back in harness today after a long time, in the end she did an amazing job and so exciting for guests and me! #clydesdale #bathurstfarmstays #barcoosfarmstaymstaysbathurst #visitbathurstnsw #schoolholidaysnsw #farmstaysnsw
17.01.2022 With the Bathurst 1000 race set to go ahead for the first time in history without camping, we’ve decided to open up our property once again this year for campers. If you’re headed to the Bathurst 1000 and are looking for somewhere to camp, we’ve got you covered! Set on 300 acres, and under 10 minutes from the track it’s the perfect place to relax and unwind after a day of racing! We’ve limited the number of sites available to ensure the health and safety of all guests, whilst making it an enjoyable, relaxing, camping experience. For full details, including how to book, click the link in the comments below. Camping at Bathurst
16.01.2022 My lovely Eden had a rough day! - Zara hassled her so much she tried jumping a fence to escape, (yes, I saw it happen but was too far away to stop it), I’ll put of photo in the comments of the main injury - vet coming in am. I’m sure she’ll be ok but it’ll be a few weeks healing.
16.01.2022 awwwww, what a chicken. How very special.
16.01.2022 My lounge room tonight! Think I might go off to bed!!#sleeping #farmstay #farmstays #barcoosfarmstay #farmstaysbathurst
15.01.2022 Jess and her son were headed on a 2-week motorhome adventure with their 1st stop at Barcoos. Sometimes the best-made plans go haywire, but we still managed to have a lot of fun.
13.01.2022 My goal today (that didnt quite go to plan) was to get these ponies going in this little wagon again - It’s perhaps 4 years since this photo was taken, little Hunter, the white pony has had an ongoing respiratory problem and every time I put him in harness he would have breathing issues, for some reason after all this time he has improved, so I thought I’d try them in pairs again........lol, I didnt quite get as far as getting them to-getter pulling the wagon, or for that matter, even being nice enough together long reining them, but, tomorrow is another day!!!!! Little steps!

12.01.2022 Very proud to be featured in Hello Sydney Kids blog post by Seana. We were honoured to host Seana for a Morning Farm Experience Vist. https://www.hellosydneykids.com.au/farmstay-nsw/
12.01.2022 You know that feeling when you get a long overdue haircut and barely recongise yourself? Well, today Eric and Aquilegia had that feeling! Going from huge looking animals to, well, what you see now! Sheering Alpaca is a little different to sheep, it takes 2 people to hold down an Alpaca and secure their legs as a kick from an Alpaca is not a pleasant experience. Whilst their transformation was a drastic one, they’re now prepared for the warm summer ahead! Jaiden really wanted ...Eric to have a Mohawk that ran down the length of his body, whilst I wanted a Mohawk on his head and some side burns... Turns out the shearer could have trimmed them like a poodle as well.. I am not sure Elaine would have approved. Maybe next year.. --Cam
11.01.2022 Yesterday we went to Parkes Agility Club Training day and had so much fun, especially little Scooter as you can see by the smile on his face!!! Cheeky little monkey he is! We didnt quite finish the course as he got so excited he couldn’t remember how to go into the last tunnel!!! Thank you Parkes for welcoming us.

08.01.2022 Hello Sydney Kids were out here last week taking some photos for an upcoming article about Barcoos. If any of our previous guests would like to contribute to their article with your experiences on the farm, be sure to shoot them a message!
08.01.2022 Yesterday I put a call out for A poddy lamb and got newborn twins - and a follow on today was another cute merino lamb plus this super cute bloke! - He is going to be so very popular with school holidays starting this week. There are 2 questions.....well, 3 actually! Who’s going to guess what breed of sheep he is? He needs a name! - And his merino sister that came with him needs a name also! - They are about 2 weeks old and came from a farm over near Tarana, OMG what a magnificent drive to get them.
06.01.2022 A special recent review on Tripadvisor. Great value family farm experience We visited for a private farm experience (1 1/2 hours) and had a great time. They accommodated us at just a day's notice and were very welcoming. In an hour and a half, we visited and fed all sorts of animals, held a day old baby lamb, and the children had pony rides. A great value family activity only 10 minutes out of Bathurst and close to the racing circuit, so made a fun morning out. Meet Scooters Dad, and yet Scooter has a smooth coat. Tricia James
06.01.2022 Welcome, Di. Ages since we have seen you here. Cute pics thank you.
05.01.2022 Triplets! - Not really welcomed with merino’s as Mum often can’t count! But so far so good. It’s not a great photo because I didn’t want to disturb the good work that Mum is doing so far. Quite a few lambs born over the last 24hours! #merinosheep #barcoosfarmstays #farmingaustralia #visitbathurstnsw
05.01.2022 Friday afternoon cuddles with Jaiden and Clay. .
05.01.2022 Checking the twin ewes nursery paddock. I could sit and watch them for ages. #farming #merinosheep #barcoosfarmstays #farmstaysbathurst #visitbathurstnsw

03.01.2022 My beautiful Daisy has twins - again, the last 3 years at least she has raised twins. Daisy lives with the flock in the paddock but always comes to me to say hello and give me a kiss. #petsheep #barcoosfarmstay #farmstaysbathurst #farmstays #visitbathurstnsw
03.01.2022 Poddy Lamb Cuddles this morning. I think the lambs love it as much as the guests! #poddylamb #farmstay #visitbathurstnsw #barcoosfarmstay #bathurstfarmstays #schoolholidays
03.01.2022 Good morning from Parkes. CB and Scooter patiently waiting for us to finish breakfast and go play! #kelpie #jackrussellterrier
02.01.2022 Charlie Brown’s 1st Agility Trial yesterday and he was awesome achieving 3 qualifying certifications, a 2nd and a 3rd placing. As you can see I need to practice my sprints, . Little Scooter learned some essential trial manners about not cheering too loud, and CB’s winnings bought us our morning coffees!
01.01.2022 1st lambs born today, and Daisy coming to me in the paddock to say g’day. #barcoosfarmstays
01.01.2022 Awwwww, I love my cuddles! Clay, the lamb with Cam having smooches! Clay and Lana are now 6 days old, LOL, I’m seriously worried about them ever being aware they are sheep! They are still living inside because of the very cold snap, they now know where the sunshine warms their special spot in the lounge room, often with Scooter and sometimes Charlie Brown curled up sharing the spot! #poddy lambs, #petsheep #farmstays #visitbathurstnsw #barcoosfarmstaysbathurst
