13.01.2022 Important Notice: Covid-19 Update #3 To all our amazing customers and friends. Bardon Thyme has been monitoring the situation associated with the current pandemic very closely. Our primary concern is the health and well-being of everyone in our community, our staff and our own family. ... We have looked closely at our operations for take away, deliveries etc. Unfortunately we do not believe there to be a fail safe way to operate and in the interest of everones health and safety, Garry and Michael have made the very tough decision to temporarily close Bardon Thyme. We sincerely believe this to be the right decision. We are currently therefore running all our stock down and will be temporarily closing as of 2.00pm tomorrow, Wednesday March 24th. We will continue to pay the lease for the cafe with the hope of opening again in a few months when the situation improves. These are unprecedented times but we stay very optimistic that we will all get through this together. The only real thing that is important is that we all stay healthy and follow advice from our government and health professionals closely. The quicker we all do this, the quicker life can return to a semblance of normailty. Thank you so very much for all your support, friendship and love. We will see you all again when we get to the otherside! Stay safe, stay healthy and be happy! All of us at Bardon Thyme

12.01.2022 Covid 19 - Update #4 Dear friends of Bardon Thyme. Wow, what a roller coaster month it has been. As the country shut it borders and states put in restrictions, we did indeed begin to have grave concerns as to when we would be able to re-open again. Yet the unprecedented measures seem to be paying off and we now believe it safe to do so! Yes, Bardon Thyme is re-opening on Thursday April 23rd at 06.30 am!... Things will be a little different as we are all mindful of the need to continue social distancing. Our hours of operation will be limited from 06.30 to 12.00pm Tuesday - Sunday. Food options will also be limited and take-away only to ensure all customers have a quick turn around. We do however hope we can add to the menu once some restrictions have been lifted. The quality coffee, teas and other beverages remain the same but we will not be able to accept reusable cups at this time. We have missed everyone greatly but are so pleased that we can re-open quicker than expected. Can't wait to see you all again soon! Bardon Thyme :)

03.01.2022 Important Notice Covid-19 Update #2 To all of our amazing customers and friends. Last weekend, we were blown away with the support you gave us all at Bardon Thyme. Despite the changes we had to implement, many of you came out to show your continued support. Everyone seemed to appreciate one another’s social distance and despite a few minor challenges, most operations continued with little disruption. We sincerely thank you for such. ... As many of you may now be aware, in their fight against the virus spread and in an attempt to keep us all healthy and safe, the government have announced further restrictions for cafes. With immediate effect, we are now only able to offer take-away food and beverages. This therefore equates to the following and immediate changes to our operations: All food and beverages will be take-away only. As always we use only biodegradable and compostable packaging. Please recycle. Customers will be allowed to enter the café one person at a time through the main entrance, order and then will be asked to go out the side exit and wait until their order is ready. Your order will then be placed for collection by a member of staff who will call out. Menu items will be slightly reduced. In an attempt to make sure customers do not need to wait for lengthy periods for food preparation. We had sincerely hoped to offer additional options; picnic hampers and packages for take away. However, after reviewing these options closer, the issues with potential cross-contamination on packaging, insurance liabilities, availability of food to be sourced and the financial economics just make it too challenging at present. These options are therefore not currently being explored any further. Unfortunately we are no longer able to offer any seating to our customers and the garden is closed. For now, Bardon Thyme is strictly a take-away café only. Presently, we do not know what the next steps will be to combat the virus with regards to the operations of cafes. In these unprecedented times things change quickly. We will continue to update you whenever we have to make changes. Stay safe, healthy and happy. All of us at Bardon Thyme

01.01.2022 We would like to introduce to you Renee Eltjé Johnston from @mind_pour_art Renee is participating in Bardon Thymes most recent 'artist on show' with her solo exhibition displaying recent works. All works are currently for sale!! Follow her socials @mind_pour_art https://www.mindpourart.com... "I'm an Australian artist and mother of two living in the beautiful bayside suburb of Manly, Queensland. My work is an exploration of numerous delicate acrylic pours using colour to provoke emotion. My art is not solely limited to one technique or medium and is guided by my mood. My artwork is often a reflection of what is happening in and around me at that time. It's my passion and I delight in sharing it with others. Acrylic Pouring is a fascinating fluid painting technique. Depending on the technique I use, this liquefied paint is then poured into each other or tilted onto the canvas and distributed by tilting the painting surface. Depending on the choice of the colour, the medium and the additives, different effects take form. Like a photograph my artwork captures a moment in time. From a young age, I loved to create art and would tell stories through dance. I would often watch my grandfather paint zebra finches onto canvas and my father was a professional painter by trade. I create individual bespoke pieces for order which will enliven any wall. Due to having a young family I create a limited number of artworks each year. I hope my paintings give people a feeling of optimism through my canvases’ fresh colour and form." . . . . #brisbanecoffee #brisbane #brisbaneanyday #foodie #queensland #love #brisbaneeats #discoverbrisbane #bardon #art #artist #painter #brisbaneartist #australianart #australianartst #mindpourart #contemporaryart #exhibition #bardonthyme #artgallery #bardonthyme #fluidart #interiordesign #artexhibition
