23.01.2022 Windows done but a lack of new parts will see the HK back in the new year for the guards..door skins...y frame repairs and a little look at the floorpan.

22.01.2022 Not that im not busy but i Made some new tipping dies and urathane rollers the other week for my bead roller.ive also finessed the power drive and the gearing to slow it down..works very well for this weeks work.

22.01.2022 top tailgate almost ready for reassembly...all repaired...blasted...all welds and skin edges have been smoothed.just needs a coat of internal sealer and it can have the skin fitted and spot welded back on..happy days.

21.01.2022 The HK made it back a month ago for New guards,new lower valance panel,the usual Y frame repairs plus some straightening,New drivers side floor pan and the doors rebuilt with some new skins.

18.01.2022 The little vespa is coming along well.only 200g of fine filler required.the front guard just wasnt right after all the beating i had to do on it so it got another session with the flipper and file to correct some of the lines...it should be painted this week and back to its owner.

18.01.2022 HD X2 parts...while there wasnt that much rust...apart from the bottom inner and outer....the door jam end from top to bottom and a few holes in the wheel arch. There was nothing straight about the skin..probably the worst ive attempted to straighten.but its come up very well..fully unstitched the back and inner splash guards...beat and shrinked the outer back to life and refitted the rear..test fit time now... then button it all back up and another shrinking session for good measure.over time and budget but its looking good.

17.01.2022 The little galant came back for some blasting...engine bay..boot and wheel arches.

17.01.2022 This is the left hand door. It did look much better than the right to start with.. it turns out it was, as it was the original door for the van. Last few pics are skin prep...epoxy priming inside and out of both doors..cavity wax and final sealants and finnish.

15.01.2022 Repaired RH Vespa guard...unfolded the lower edge...blasted guard and trapped rust...reworked guard including the vent area...refolded lower edge and epoxy primed.

14.01.2022 Now offering in house blasting..ill be using it for most jobs from now on so everything can be perfect inside,out and around repaired areas..its a full sized blasting unit so the time it normally takes to clean up is greatly reduced.... the finnished product is even better.

10.01.2022 Typical light rust and swelling of a door bottom ends up with this removed and replaced...replacement peice made and test fitted a zillion times...edges tightened and gaps checked before welding....some light beating and shrinking and its good to go.

06.01.2022 Good day today back on the hammer and welder... Started off without a flat part on the panel.. Needs a bump and file here and there but thats about it.

04.01.2022 Driver side door frame repairs This door looked O.K from the outside..as you can see it was a fair mess. This is the short version...there are a lot more pictures, steps and hand made peices that went into this frame. I'll just show you the highlights. All parts made in house.

03.01.2022 We were almost there with this HK van untill somthing a little unexpected turned up under the previous repairs to the rear quarters...... the black tint on the steel is not suppose to be there.. the bumper didnt fit right. And the Melomotive splines said bad things. So off came all the primer and bog to start again.... Access holes were cut into the lower 1/4s to reach all the panel and as the lowers are so damaged they will be replaced on both sides anyway. Panels were smoothed and now just waiting on the replacement lowers to arrive for fitting. Now the quarters match the rest of the silky smooth bare metal shell.. See more

02.01.2022 The little green vespa recently returned for a visit... Looking Sharp.

01.01.2022 This is from the galant from a few weeks back...it looked just a little rusty on the outside but its a typical lower front guard repair..remove rusty outer...sandblast and repair area...then get to work making a new lower outer skin. Tig welded on... the inner edges get some spot welds it should look just like a new one...inside and out.
