05.01.2022 PISTOL SQUATS!! Super tricky exercise that unless you already have great balance and strength are very hard to complete. I made this short video to try and help you guys out if you ever consider learning them! STEP 1: WARMUP!.. seriously, warmup. These will put immense strain on your joints and going into it cold could very likely end up with you getting injured, so take your time and don't rush into it. STEP 2: This is the best tip i could give to anyone trying these. Use a... counter weight! You could try them while holding onto a solid object, but trying it that way will remove the element of instability which will only make it seem more challenging when you actually attempt it. I personally would recommend using a barbell. It will still move about during the exercise and will help ensure you are focusing on stability as well as power throughout the Range of motion. STEP 3: This is where it gets tough. If you are now confident that you have it dialed in with the counterweight its time to progress to a un-assisted squat. Tips for this step? Use your arms for balance and focus on the movement! The lower you can go the better! hope this helps :)
