25.01.2022 Your Feet are like the Foundation to a House! Think of the foundation of a house. If it is all cracked and unstable, the walls and roof will be out of alignment.... At Barefeet, we believe the feet are like the foundation of a house, the walls are your knees and legs, the roof is your pelvis and lower back. If your feet are unstable, then your knees, pelvis and lower back are all out of alignment, which could transfer to problems all the way to the neck! If your feet flatten, collapse or wobble when walking, your foundation is unstable. Unstable feet foundations cause the following problems and more! - Heel pain - Arch pain - Forefoot pain - Knee pain - Lower back pain - Ankle pain - Shin splints - Outside of the legs pain - Toe pain - Ingrowing toe nails - High pressure areas - Bunions - Hammer toes - Neuromas - Top of feet pain - Balls of the feet pain - Knock knees - Shock absorption problems in heels At Barefeet Podiatry- this is what we are EXPERTS in! If you are experiencing any of the above, book an appointment with us so we can solve it for you! Online booking: https://barefeet-podiatry.cliniko.com/bookings#service

13.01.2022 Yep Shoes that light up are SOOOOO much fun for kiddies! However they should be used as sometimes shoes. It is best for your child (not school age) to wear no shoes at all!... So when at home- please get your kiddie to have no shoes on. It helps so much with balance and proprioception.

10.01.2022 Heel Pain Cycle- What is it? Heel Pain is a microtear that has occurred though overuse. The microtear is usually at the tendon insertion to the heel (calcaneus), it is usually located on the bottom of your foot in the middle of the heel!... The microtear can also be along the length of the arch at the bottom of your foot. The tear causes inflammation as the body tries to heal it. Inflammation causes pain. When you sit or lay down, blood rushes in to heal the area. When you stand up again, you re-tear the area which was trying to be healed. Its a vicious cycle! There are a few options to solve this! 1. Walk on your hands for 3months so you do not put any pressure on the area and it can heal properly. 2. Make an appointment @ Barefeet Podiatry and we will solve it straight away and painless! 09.01.2022 Bunions? What is it? - A bunion is often thought of as being a bump on the side of the big toe, however it is more complex than that.... - A bunion is actually a change in the bone structure of the front of the foot. - When you have a bunion, the big toe leans towards the second toe, instead of pointing straight ahead. - This throws all the bones out of alignment, and therefore producing the bunions bump. - Over time the bunion can become bigger and more painful.
