23.01.2022 You can't out trim a bad diet! I think these pictures attest to that These 2 thoroughbreds are like twins.... Both similar heights, colours etc. But their hooves are completely different with their own mixtures of issues, thankfully nothing too serious. Both fairly recently finished their racing careers and have been out of shoes for a little while now. I gave them their second trim with me today. The pictures are a mixture of both horses from today's trim and last time before trimming, and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised with their hooves especially after all this wet weather. I am most pleased with the quick turn around in condition of the hooves. If you feel like you need help with diet - please message me and I can help point you in the right direction. There's so much info out there that it can be daunting and one thing that works for one horse, mightn't for another. Happy hump day everyone

21.01.2022 WARNING!!! We are officially only 2 weeks away from spring but spring has already sprung! I'm already seeing changes in horses hooves including my own horse (shown in the picture is his hoof when I bought him).... If you know you have a horse that has had laminitis related issues in the past - it's time to act. Don't wait til it's too late and your horse is struggling to walk. We've had rain and the grass is growing quickly If you're worried about your horse or pony - there are things we can do. I'm only a message away if anyone needs any help regarding diet management.

17.01.2022 Hi everyone! Just a quick update. We have moved in! Yay! For those of you who have appointments this week, I unfortunately can't guarantee that I can keep our appointments. ... I still haven't heard from Emily's daycare regarding her start date. On top of that - she seems to have a vomitting bug so I'd be cancelling appointments until further notice anyway Sorry everyone! As soon as she's feeling better and I have a start date for her at daycare, I'll let you all know.

15.01.2022 Trimming my favourite thoroughbred (besides my Frankie ). Believe it or not but this goober never used to stand still! Now his mum can leave him unattended to take sneaky pictures of us - I was wondering what she was up to hehe. Just goes to show what a bit of groundwork can do for a horse!

14.01.2022 I could pick a few there but definitely 6 and 9

10.01.2022 Happy hump day everyone! Just wanted to share this with everyone as the owner and I are very happy with his progress Chikko an aged standy gelding who they took on had this quite large quarter crack. I have been trimming him fortnightly and applying good gear naturals clay into the crack. Today I took some new pictures and was pleased to see there's a drastic improvement!

10.01.2022 A little update for beautiful Kayne the warmblood gelding. 3/4 hooves have quarter cracks. I was pretty thrilled to see that the fortnightly trims are paying off! His one good hoof it's pretty darn good now The quarter crack shown here on the other front hoof is more or less grown out now, we just need that outer wall to grow back down ... Diet and frequent little trims are super important especially when it comes to deep cracks. If the hoof wall touches the ground, the crack will not grow out and will continue to crack up towards the coronet band and that's when you encounter real dramas So it may not look 'pretty' but I'm trimming for function, not for aesthetic! The pretty hooves will come with time

08.01.2022 Notice!! Between the 31st of August and 4th of September I will not be taking any new bookings as I am moving into my new acreage property woohoo! Those who have bookings that week, don't worry, I will fulfill those appointments

08.01.2022 Current clients please read As my books are getting close to being full, I am struggling to fit everyone in - it's a good problem to have don't get me wrong and I love you all! Recently though, I've spent a lot of time in a day on travel and I'd like to cut that down as much as possible ... Everyone has their own schedules and I try to be as flexible as possible. I am spending the next couple of days looking through my list of clients and your location is relation to other clients so I can try to co-ordinate certain days for certain areas. So I may be messaging some of you to reschedule to a day that I'm in the area - bear with me The more organised I am, the more time I have to spend with your ponies Thanks everyone!

06.01.2022 Happy Sunday everyone! There is nothing that brings a smile to my face more than seeing my clients and their horses/ponies in action and enjoying life! I am so proud of these two and can't wait to see what they get up to next ... Well done Steph and Fifi! You two are doing so well together

02.01.2022 Check out these two beauties! Aren't I lucky to have the pleasure of trimming both of them! Thanks to their lovely owner for allowing me to share these beautiful pictures with you all - and a couple of my own pics from todays trim ... Big Z the stallion who has recently started his career under saddle and Etheria his gorgeous half sister who is for sale (whoever gets her will be so lucky) They have definitely made me a huge fan of the breed. 01.01.2022 Hi everyone! Happy public holiday! Hope everyone has a great long weekend A fellow trimmer made this video and shared it to one of the barefoot trimming groups I'm in.... I thought I would share it with you all so you can see what I see when looking at your horses hooves. By the time I meet your horse it generally is in one stage of distortion and that can be caused by varying factors. This is why with the badly distorted hooves I diligently document each trim to see what the tubules are doing and if they're starting to go in the right direction (amongst seeing what other changes are happening) I'm a visual learner so this is awesome for me and I hope you all as horse owners take the time to watch it and learn something new. Train your own eyes to pick up on subtle changes in your horse hooves and it could save your horse one day!

01.01.2022 It's almost that time!! Just a reminder for everyone that I will be moving house on the 28th which is this Friday.... That also means that my daughter will be switching daycares and possibly switching to different days of attendance. I apologise in advance for any inconvenience this may cause to people who have appointments next week but I'll do my best to keep everyone informed and do my best to keep the appointments I have. If I can't, I'll reschedule for the following week once things have settled down. Thanks everyone!

01.01.2022 It's the 1st of August! Happy birthday to all the horses Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend filled with lots of horsey activities
