05.01.2022 SAVE A BIRD’S FLIGHT! DONATE OLD BIRD FEATHERS Did you know that you can donate your own pet bird’s molted flight feathers to give another bird back the gif...t of flight? Not just wildlife, but companion birds too! There are several avian vets and wildlife hospitals that perform the imping procedure to transplant the primary and secondary flight feathers and sometimes even tail feathers for a bird in need. Birds that have been injured or suffered severe wing clips can land heavily when attempting to fly and have trouble steering, which makes them prone to predators, can cause broken bones, sore feet, painful blood feathers, and wing discomfort. This can also have a negative impact on the mental health of a bird resulting in depression, self-mutilation, and/or feather plucking. Imping will give a bird the ability to fly again immediately. This helps to prevent further physical injury and promotes optimal mental and physical health. It also means wild birds may be released back into their habitats much earlier, reducing the stress of the whole ordeal significantly. Call your local avian vet or animal hospital and ask them if they take feather donations. Do a quick internet search on flight feathers for the bird species if you are unsure which feathers to send. Below are a few well known vets in SE QLD that perform imping: Brisbane Birds & Exotics Vet Brisbane Bird Vet Currumbin Wildlife Hospital Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital Unusual Pet Vets Who would have thought?

04.01.2022 Can you light up your street!

04.01.2022 We have had several 4 legged visitors to our Zoom classes. Here is an example of what we can achieve with our 4 legged family members. I have started training Snugglepot - so far she has bitten me several times, rounded me up, going between the legs can only occur if there is a trick with the hand delivering the treat - she just looks at me as if to say "what is yOUR problem and goes around the outside of the legs instead. I am terrified of having her stand up on my feet, seem to end up with a 23Kg dog dancing on top of my ribs

03.01.2022 This is what is making the noise during our Pilates Zoom classes!!

02.01.2022 Happy Easter everyone!! Stay safe and have lots of chocolates and try out the Bilbies - they are great!!

02.01.2022 I'll be leaving isolation 10kg heavier

01.01.2022 We all know that exercise, diet, and mental exercise are all part of the complex recipe that contribute positively to our health and wellness. In the dimensions of Wellness - there are six main aspects of personal health: physical, emotional, social, spiritual, and intellectual and environmental. With this in mind, I am inviting clients to take part in a 4 week program that focuses on these aspects of our health and well being while in isolation! Th program will entail three key ingredients of exercise, diet and mental exercise but also importantly socialisation. I will have more details over the Easter break but am very interested to see how much interest there is. Feel free to PM me if you prefer your interest to be private.
