15.01.2022 Immediate Shutdown of SSAA Victoria Eagle Park and Springvale Ranges and Training Courses. It is with regret that SSAA Victoria will be temporarily closing the ...Eagle Park and Springvale ranges and cancelling all current Practical Firearms Training Program courses (PFSTP). Like many organisations, SSAA Victoria received Department of Health directives this morning. After examining the 74-page document and receiving legal advice, it has been decided to enact these temporary stoppages. SSAA Victoria has a duty of care to its members, staff and visitors. The Association has taken these steps in the best interests of the health and safety of all involved. SSAA Victoria regrets any inconvenience these closures may cause. Anyone who has registered and paid to attend a Practical Firearms Training Course will receive a refund. SSAA Victoria will reschedule course dates once the current restrictions are removed. Further updates will be available on www.ssaavic.com.au and SSAA Victoria social media pages.

12.01.2022 2020 Hornady Precision Rifle Challenge

11.01.2022 Hey guys, unfortunately the match scheduled for July 26th in Stawell has been cancelled. It is disappointing and a lot of you had been contacting me recently ab...out attending, but due to the current circumstances here in Vic it's the responsible thing to do. We'll play it by ear as the weeks and months go by and hopefully we can run the remaining scheduled matches later in the year but time will tell. Stay safe. Cheers, Jarrod.

10.01.2022 Update for handgun owners from LRD In response to the COVID-19 pandemic of 2020, the Victorian Government had issued Stage 3 restrictions for Regional Victoria ...and Stage 4 restrictions for metropolitan Melbourne, meaning travel and movement throughout the state has been restricted. Under these circumstances, the Licensing and Regulation Division (LRD) are aware that licence holders have not been permitted to attend and participate at shooting clubs during this time. Due to these restrictions, Victoria Police have made the decision to waive all handgun participation requirements for the 2020 calendar year effective immediately. This means that all shoots or matches required to be completed per number of classes of handgun possessed, will be exempt for the 2020 calendar year. Approved shooting clubs will still be required to submit an annual report for 2020 within 3 months after the end of the calendar year to the Chief Commissioner of Police in accordance with s.123C of the Firearms Act 1996. Licence holders are not required to submit requests for exemption or modification, this variation applies to all affected licence holders. If you have further questions, please email [email protected] or if you need more information about the current restriction levels in Victoria, please refer to the Department of Health and Human Services website. We would like to thank you for your continued cooperation during this time and hope you are staying safe and well. Regards, Licensing and Regulation Division Regulatory Services Department Victoria Police

10.01.2022 Licencing and Regulation Division have just released an amendment for shoots for the 2020 calender year in Victoria.

10.01.2022 FYI from LRD... Good afternoon, The Licensing and Regulation Division (LRD) regulate the firearms industry to ensure public safety and peace and continually assess the suitability for individuals to hold a firearm licence. It is expected that if you hold a firearm licence you are aware of the firearm safety standards to keep yourself, your family and others around you safe.... The LRD would like to remind all firearm licence holders that they must follow each of the Chief Health Officer’s (CHO’s) directives which are currently in place to slow the spread of the coronavirus and keep the community safe. Victoria Police takes breaches of licence conditions and CHO restrictions seriously. Blatant and deliberate disregard of the CHO’s directions endangers public safety and calls into question a licence holders suitability to be licenced in an area that requires a strong emphasis on safety. Should a licence holder blatantly and deliberately breach the CHO’s restrictions, your licence can be suspended, cancelled or may be subject to a reprimand which could harm any future licensing. If you are unsure around what activities are permitted under the CHO’s directives, please visit the [Department of Health and Human Services](https://cdpc.us13.list-manage.com/track/click) website or phone the Coronavirus hotline on 1800 675 398. More information about the LRD’s response to COVID-19 can be found on the [Victoria Police website Firearms](https://cdpc.us13.list-manage.com/track/click). Regards, Licensing and Regulation Division Regulatory Services Department Victoria Police

08.01.2022 The Victorian Government has released the updated restrictions for both Melbourne and regional Victoria. It is pleasing to see that the border between the two r...egions has been removed and members can now freely move around the state without limitation. As such, both metro and regional range will now be operating under the same COVID-19 restrictions. Eagle Park will return to normal opening hours which includes Mondays and Fridays as of 13 November following the government restrictions. There will be no change to the operations of Springvale. It will continue to be open to members only due to the limited numbers that the range can host. Main range bookings are essential. Please go to our website for more information on all our ranges, opening time and booking requirements.
