24.01.2022 Win a Recipe Book FULL of plant based deliciousness!!
22.01.2022 Have you every eaten an organic banana? Any organic fruit and veg in fact! It’s SO delicious and packed full of flavour. . What is that you say; But they don’t look as nice as the ‘shop’ ones’ ... I used to think the same, every time I found Organic F & V tucked away at a shop they looked bad. Dents, dimples and discoloration is normal Don’t judge a book by it’s cover right? . But times have changed, I mean check out these bananas In my bowl I also have organic pears and apples plus lemon and oranges from a friends tree. . Organic farmers use no chemical and this is turn is not leaching into our soils or waterways and supports our biodiversity Eating more plant based foods means less carbon emission. Less chemicals is better for the health and well-being of yourself and others. It’s grown the way it’s mean to be, working with the planets resources not against it. Eating in season. Lots of Organics are not not wrapped in plastic. Plastic wrapped eggplants ( seriously what is with that ) Take your reusable bags or use a cardboard box in store. . There are so many organic F & V shops. Both online and pick up options. Some of my favorites are ( I’m based in Perth, WA) . @perthorganics @dunnandwalton @henrysorganics ( only Veg ) @the_little_big_store @theorganiccollective ( I haven’t purchased from these guys but have heard good things ) So have I got you craving a good banana ?
21.01.2022 Makeup Brushes Ohhhh do they breed bacteria SO much yuckiness. ( predictive text this is a word ) When it’s time to give them a clean this is my formula:... Container to fit all of your brushes I fill with liquid till it covers the brush end , I use half water, half witch hazel. You can just use water but I find witch hazel works really well. A squirt of Castile soap or 1 teaspoon if you are a measurer Two drops each of tea tree and grapefruit. Any EO I use #doterra but whatever you have Soak brushes in water for a few hours and then tip out water, rinse until the water is clear and then pop them in the sun to dry Recommend brush down or flat so the water does drain down into the brush handle. You can also keep repeating this process depending on how bad they are Important: Rinse the brushes first this is important or your brushes will just be sitting in grubby water. I learnt this the hard way and you waste the ingredients They will be as good as new and will last longer! Less waste Let me know if you have any tips or tricks for this.
20.01.2022 Instinct | Sometime’s the world of essential oils can be overwhelming, so many options! Whilst they all have different benefits, you can get information overload trying to focusing on the individual details. It’s fun & simple to just pick without too much thought .... These are two I instinctively picked for a meditation / yoga retreat and I was rushing to pack ( hahaha yep needed the grounding ) My faithful two: Frankincense & Balance. . Have you done this recently? See more
18.01.2022 This is just the start of the evolving circular economy! Closed loop systems are the way to go. . I buy a refillable pouch, fill my own containers or buy one from @zeroco.com.au which is made out of ocean waste. Once it’s finished, I wait till I have 15 pouches and I post back to be reused for the next customer! .... The pouch is made out of diverted plastic from landfill, all the package is 100% reusable or recyclable. This truly is a closed loop system. . If you don’t want to make your own cleaning products this is a good option! Plant Based Formula Australia made Vegan & cruelty friendly No palm oil Greywater friendly Recycled Winning

15.01.2022 This is relevant to so much in my life right now and it’s easy to get so focused on your individual needs and wants that we forget to look bigger and broader. I have been struggling with the state of our planet and quite frankly my personal issues seem insignificant and selfish in comparison to the plight of other animal species, and lack of biodiversity, the consumerism, the pollution. I cry as I see more and more land being cleared and the ongoing quest for more, ...this need to have everything bigger and better. The continual growth of our population which is unsustainable and the fact that in my life time the natural world may all but disappear. This has been building for a while, I have been progressively transitioning to a more sustainable life. From going chemical free, making my own products, installing solar, installing LED lights, swapping out plastic for biodegradable sustainable options and following a predominantly plant based diet, I just keep changing one thing at a time. But there is SO much more to do. I was quite frankly finding it overwhelming but then I sat back and thought. One step at a time. It is achievable! there is lots of info on the internet. I can’t change what I have done but I have the power to contribute to what the future will look like to teach the future generations. As a collective we have the power to change the future. #positivity #oneplanet I will be sharing more of the changes I have made and continue to make. Minimising my carbon footprint is my next step. If you have or would like any tips and tricks pop in the comments
15.01.2022 Haha YEP...... packaging is so random ..... just put it in some plastic Very funny My fav was the scissors
14.01.2022 The difference between Biodegradable and Compostable ( because this can be a bit tricky ) The key difference between biodegradable and compostable is that biodegradable is a term that refers to material like organic matter that can be broken down by the action of microorganisms and other living organisms while compostable is a term that refers to material that can be used to make compost. So, if it's biodegradable put in the general waste bin loose ( not in a plastic bag )... and if it's compostable put in the compost. If you don't have a compost bin, put loose in the general waste. https://www.differencebetween.com/difference-between-biode/ See more
14.01.2022 Let’s talk about Mouthwash tablets. Firstly, store them in a tree . I was actually chasing tooth tablets that you chew and then use like toothpaste.! Anyho’ I have used these and I have to say they do serve a purpose Great for a freshen up on the run, plastic + chemical free ... . So if you are a mouth kinda person these are a great option. 13.01.2022 This brought me to tears today.... I am literally sitting here balling, staring at the screen looking at that stunning tree, thinking of the cultural significance to the Djab Wurrung people, thinking about the greed and selfishness to destroy another living things. The government can say sorry all they want but actions speak louder than words!
13.01.2022 Hi I’m loving this eco friendly shampoo & conditioner! . It’s really hard to find salon quality hair products that are plastic free, with no harsh chemicals, not tested on animals and #vegan friendly so SUPER chuffed with this find. . You can also buy just the refill and reuse the plastic pump top ... . Every @ethaircal bottle set sold removes 16 plastic bottles from our planet per year #plasticfree #zerowaste . @ethaircal See more
13.01.2022 Carbon Offset - Vehicles Something that has been bugging me for a while is the emissions from my car. I drive a large SUV 4WD, probably the least sustainable car! But I need to make do with this decision at the moment due to certain circumstances, plus it is a practical vehicle for regional living, travelling and electric cars are just not quite mainstream yet. Until I can find another work around I am doing two things: 1. Carbon Offsetting my car. ... The Carbon Neutral Charitable Fund based here in Perth will plant trees in biodiversity projects across Australia to offset your CO2 emissions. Annually this will cost me approx. $128 per year based on my car type, KM's and fuel consumption. My aim is to decrease the use of my car and swap to an eco alternative in the future. To help me with that I am going to do this 2. Buy a second hand bike - with a wee basket and a rack I will get second hand as it has already been manufactured and is sitting in someones garage gathering dust! Win win for both parties. Going forward I will be looking at my power bills, food waste & travel. But for the now - I am feeling happy! #smallsteps For more info go to: www.cnfc.com.au

11.01.2022 Let's get Phascolarctidae @ Christmas! Yes, I googled that to get a catchy heading Christmas Pressies, actually all presents don't have to be materialistic or specifically for the recipient. After the horrific bush fires that we all watched with tears in our eyes feeling totally helpless. The koala's numbers, habitat and food have sufficiently deplated and they need us so much right now to survive ... There are lots of options at WWF #koalasforeverappeal , make a one off donation or even adopt one of our cute wee tree dwelling friends and gift to friends and family My birthday is coming up and I will be asking to park the gifts and donate to WWF instead. That's the perfect gift. To everyone on my Christmas List - surprise!

11.01.2022 I have a few mosquitoes in the house at the moment! Wee buggers. . Instead of using a spray that is harmful on the #environment and full of #chemicals , I love to diffuse #lemongrass and #citronella during the day but also at night so they leave me alone! If you are sitting outside, pop a diffuser under where you are sitting, it works well! Other options are:... . Lemon Eucalyptus Peppermint Lavender Cedarwood . Make a spray with approx 10 drops of oil to 30ml of water or diffuse . #plasticfree #chemicalfree
09.01.2022 RECYCLING There is an awesome recycling website https://recycleright.wa.gov.au/ that’s got all the info to help clear up any questions about recycling. This fact sheet is going straight onto the fridge! It can get so confusing right?! Also this is the link for containers for change. https://www.containersforchange.com.au/... So you can either pop the specified items in your recycle bin or take to a collection point. The benefit of the collection point is it is targeted recycling and not mixed up with potentially contaminated or non viable recycling goods. If you don't want the money - the collection points will donate. It's also a great way to incentive individuals or groups to pick up litter. Pop your sneakers on and go for a walk and do a beach collection. Get a group together and make it a fun day.
08.01.2022 This is such a good doco and general overview of the shit storm we as the human race have created #eyeopener #thetimeisnow

01.01.2022 I wanted to share something REALLY cool with you that will have you planting tree without leaving the office. Ecosia is a search engine based in Germany, that donates 80% or more of its profits to nonprofit organizations that focus on reforestation. I have loaded it as my search engine on my phone, laptop and desktop so every time I'm surfing I'm planting It takes approx. 45 searches to plant a tree, which you can see at the top right hand corner. ... PLUS they have also just launched TREE CARD made from sustainably sourced FSC cherry wood. When you pay for a purchase using a card, the merchant has to pay a small transaction fee, if you use TreeCard, that money will go towards supporting reforestation projects. Every $60 spent plants a tree! TreeCard comes with a state-of-the-art app that lists all of your transaction and to top up with money. Does anyone else use this? If you don't check it out. www.ecosia.org I'm excited!
