17.01.2022 This week we celebrate NAIDOC Our theme this year is: Always was, always will be. NAIDOC Week celebrations are held across Australia to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. NAIDOC is celebrated not only in Indigenous communities, but by Australians from all walks of life. The week is a great opportunity for our students to participate in a range of activities and to support our local Aboriginal and Torres Strait ...Islander community. NAIDOC originally stood for ‘National Aborigines and Islanders Day Observance Committee’. This committee was once responsible for organising national activities during NAIDOC Week and its acronym has since become the name of the week itself. This week, we will acknowledge and celebrate with students across the week with lessons in class and lunch time activities (see our timetable below). #alwayswasalwayswillbe Find out more about NAIDOC week here: https://www.naidoc.org.au/

07.01.2022 Year 3 campers had a great night at the turtle centre last night They had their turtle call within 15 minutes of arriving and saw a beautiful turtle lay her eggs Just when they were on our way along the beach, another turtle started coming out of the water. She got spooked by our large group, but the ranger wanted to see her tag, so students got to see a very unique experience while rangers worked to catch her long enough to see her ID tag ... The information centre was a great way to finish the night Could be some tired eyes this morning but a great day at the beach in this perfect beach weather is planned
