24.01.2022 The 1st October marks the beginning of the fire season, fire permits are required. Requirements include getting, an approval to burn from Council & permit from your local Brigade, also to log on to the RFS website and fill in the notification to complete a burn, the requirement to log your fire online is all year round. This will hopefully overcome a lot of false alarms for brigades. Please do not ask for a permit via Facebook contact Picton control centre 02 46777000.

24.01.2022 We have the crew from Beechys concrete donating their labour soon for our storage shed. Please support these local businesses as they are supporting our town.... https://www.facebook.com/bargoqualitymeats/

20.01.2022 We have confirmed that Santa will be transported by private vehicle this year. Santa’s helpers have informed us that the route travelled will be as in previous years, starting around 2pm from near the fire station and traveling towards Reservoir road Arina road area and then returning to Johnson road and through the entire eastern side of town before traveling over Wellers road bridge and into the west of town. A tracker will be used and the link will be provided on this pag...e sometime tomorrow. We realise many of you donate to the brigade during this event in previous times. We will have our brigade treasurer on one of the private vehicles if needed. We have complete trust in Santa’s helpers should you wish to donate beverages that those drinks will be delivered to the fire station. As always we are thankful for the community support throughout 2020 and look forward to Santa being back on the fire truck for Christmas 2021. Merry Christmas to all our followers.

17.01.2022 SUSPENSION OF FIRE PERMITS: This is to advise that the current suspension of Fire Permits was reviewed this morning taking into account the significant local gr...owth in grasslands fuels and dryness of soils etc.. Despite recent rains there has been no appreciable rise in soil moisture thus making the threat of escape of fire from pile burning activities a real possibility. Accordingly, the current suspension of Fire Permits will remain in force until further notice. This suspension will be reviewed towards the middle of February or if there is a significant change to the current weather pattern. An 'in-field' inspection and collection of fuel samples is undertaken in both Local Government Areas every week.

11.01.2022 It’s ten years since a very generous community member, Bob Brown, donated $100,000 to Bargo brigade. Many of you may recall the media at the time, the newspaper article below was one occasion when members visited Bob for a cuppa and a chat. Bob donated for the purchase of a PC (personnel carrier) in memory of his late wife Betty, and as such we had a memorial sticker placed on the vehicle, it’s still fitted today. Bargo PC is affectionate know as Bargo Betty by the old hand...s in the brigade. Bob’s generous donation also contributed to the additional bay on our new station and as such we have a plaque in the foyer. Bob had passed away by the time the station was opened, his sons were invited and have visited the new station. We remember fondly those days of 10 years ago and the generosity of Bob Brown. Thank you to Bob and Betty Brown, your support for the community is always remembered within Bargo brigade.
