23.01.2022 Today is Earth Day, a global movement to drive positive change for people and our planet! You might not have known that CFA is now developing its own Renewable ...Energy Plan to help reduce our carbon footprint. We already have 19 locations who have solar energy systems, with many more planning to switch in the future. CFA Yackandandah made the switch and let us take a look! Thank you to Yackandandah CFA and TRY (Totally Renewable Yackandandah) for the footage.

20.01.2022 We've had three old Barjarg training videos digitised and uploaded to YouTube. https://youtu.be/IibZkbrudiE https://youtu.be/DcEOOLjVVA4 https://youtu.be/nAy2J1DaffY... If anyone knows where or when they were shot, or who is in them, let us know! Thanks to Amanda Marshall

19.01.2022 Best Laid Plans: a great resources for families with young kids. A short film made about two fires in the NE in 2014/15, aimed at primary school-aged children. https://vimeo.com/221708543

19.01.2022 Developed and Project Managed by our brigade's own Angela Cook, last Friday saw the long-awaited launch of the Preparing Vulnerable People program across the state. 18.01.2022 Our first training session for the 2020/21 fire season was held last night, with two successful burn-over drills completed.

16.01.2022 For anyone who has lost employment because of COVID-19, check out the below opportunity from Mansfield Council

14.01.2022 Don't let computer viruses make life any more complicated that it already is when we have real viruses to contend with! These sessions should provide some great advice on how to avoid being scammed or hacked online.

14.01.2022 Alpine and Benalla CFA Fire Danger Periods start on Monday (30/11), while Mansfield's will start on December 7th. Even before then, please take care with fires and burn-offs. Our tanker turned out today for the first time this season to a grassfire at the Paps.

13.01.2022 Some potential good news leading into the next summer season: "The Australian Seasonal Bushfire Outlook indicates Victoria will have a normal fire season in 2020-21." However:... "Country Fire Authority Acting Chief Officer Garry Cook said that as one of the world’s most bushfire-prone areas, even a normal fire season in Victoria presents a high risk to communities." see more on the CFA page here: https://news.cfa.vic.gov.au/-/bushfire-outlook-flags-normal

07.01.2022 As the last of the state’s fire restrictions are lifted today, we officially mark the end of our fire season. It was a challenging season for all Victorians, a...nd the total burnt area across the state was the highest since the Black Friday fires of 1939. We thank all Victorians for their ongoing support and encouragement, throughout this season and into the future.

06.01.2022 For years now, the CFA has warned that there will not be a CFA truck in every driveway in the event of a fire. I was really surprised to see that more than a third of respondents still expected this, and especially that almost two-thirds expect a firefighting aircraft. See below link for a good reminder that the CFA cannot defend every property, and the decision to stay or go must be an educated one and a decision made by you. https://www.theguardian.com//victorians-most-at-risk-from-
