14.01.2022 There are a lot of owners out there who brush their dogs and really try to maintain them & applaud each and every one of you for giving it go & trying.... but a brush just isn’t enough ... A comb is the most essential tool ..... As you can see pictures the owner is doing a good brush brushing, the top inch of the coat is fairly knot free, but it’s what is underneath - at the skin! With a thick or curly coat ykj can’t get into the skin and you certainly won’t be getting all the dead hair out - which is what knots. .. A combs after brushing is what’s essential to keep your dog knot free. As you can see in the picture the little knots are fairly close to the skin. This means 1- I have to try to deknot to get any sort of Length through as these knots close to the skin won’t allow me to do a long trim 2- if the dog doesn’t cope with me dematting then I have no other option but to shave it down underneath those knots. ... 12.01.2022 This is Simba one of my oldest and favourite clients he's a 10 year old German shepherd. Weights about 50kg now. He lives on a farm and was usually get a flea ...bath more as a precaution than anything else. His mates are rabbits horses cows, you name it everything. would not hurt a fly. He gets fleas 2-3 times a year and my flea bath wipes it out. This year lockdown wrecked that. He was the most flea riddled dog I've ever seen. This has set off a yeast infection all over him and he's bitten himself many times as the fleas drove him nuts. I've given him three separate flea baths including today I usually recommended Sentinel which we started him on but it's a month and quite frankly has made no difference. While I usually recommend the sentinel it's not fast acting enough in this case. Today we are trying Seresto flea collars after his bath. And I'll update you as we go in 2 weeks. This was recommended by a Vet, (who initially pushed Sentinel or bravecto first) You guys might also know I've decided to put my dogs on the collars with the reason that I won't give, my customers something that I wouldn't give to my own dogs. Time for a change part 1 All new and one off bookings as of Saturday will require a deposit of $30.60 (including transaction fee) to go ahead, this will be taken over the phoneat the time of booking. Obviously this will come off the total price on the day. (Less transaction fee) We will be in contact to arrange payment shortly for those that have booked in already... This amount is non refundable and not transferable. This won't apply to our regular loyal as a dog members (people who book their next appointment at the time of booking) Why are we doing this? We had 16 bookings no show us this weekend. This isn't sustainable. We commit to be there. We are asking the same commitment from you. Begging and pleading haven't worked. We are happy to take new and existing bookings between now and Christmas we still have availability on most Tuesday Thursdays and Saturdays
