16.01.2022 From our Department for Education:

15.01.2022 The students were using scales to complete mass tasks. They hefted objects to see which object was heavier, estimated the mass and then used the scales to find the correct weight. They also completed a scavenger hunt to locate items that had a certain mass.

14.01.2022 What an amazing effort by our School sports Athletics team today. Our students competed in Waikerie against all other primary schools in the region. Fantastic sportsmanship and effort was displayed by all students!! Some wonderful results - with some students coming first, second or third in their events, some breaking their own personal record and others competing and giving it their best effort .... too hard to capture photos of all students ( sorry). Special congratulatio...ns to Bryce for breaking two records today in his running events - massive achievement!! Huge thank you to Mr Beck for the huge effort of organising such a massive team, parents who came along to support and our staff Mr Fletcher, Carly and Chelsea who also helped support our students. Well done to Peter Safralidis who organised the entire event for all of our students - what a task- but what an effort - thankyou See more

08.01.2022 Happy Fathers Day to all the wonderful Dads and Father figures we have within our Barmera Primary School Community!!

08.01.2022 In maths lessons with Mrs Smyth, the students were extra excited this week about their design challenge. To support their learning about mass they had to make a bridge that spanned 25cm, and could hold two separate objects with a combined weight of 1kg. The students couldnt wait to put their design imagination and knowledge of mass into practice, with many discussing this project at home and asking their parents for advice and ideas. Real life learning, team work and construction with a purpose!

02.01.2022 Mrs Packer has been busy planting and growing a vegetable patch with the students from the orange and blue units. 01.01.2022 This term in Science, the year 6/7 students created a system that uses both a pneumatic force and electrical circuit. Students chose a theme for their system, based on a book, movie or television show. They showed great patience and persistence throughout this topic - with many hiccups along the way - but in the end they were all successful. I'm so proud of all the year 6/7s for what they achieved. This video highlights parts of the project and shows what they created!... Miss H

01.01.2022 How clever are these year 1 and 2 students. We made these arrays today as the beginning stage of our learning about times tables. We learnt that arrays are ways of arranging objects in columns and rows to help our skip counting! We cant wait to learn more!
