11.01.2022 The third course on our menu involves sourdough bread and long paddock cultured butter. As much of a dish as any other on our menu. Every day before service at about 5pm Alex’s dad, Peter, will walk in with a few freshly baked loaves that have been baked that afternoon by Nina, Alex’s mum. Nina was taught by the late, great John Reid. John flew the flag for sustainable, local and whole foods and has been hugely inspiring to us.... Luckily we were able to serve and feed John and his family before he passed. It meant a lot to us to do this to say the least. There will always be bread and butter on the menu. It will always be sourdough and it will always be our way of paying respects to a great man. #redbeardbakery #sourdough #barmidland #castlemaine #restaurant
