25.01.2022 We cant thank Carly and Matt enough for their supplier appreciation post. It was such a privilege to work with such an awesome couple and host the most amazing celebration Venue: Barn1890 Lee and Colin are MAGIC! Throughout this year and all the turbulent times for wedding planning during C19, Lee was so incredibly supportive and kind in helping us every single step along the way. She had wonderful organisation and open communication. When I rang them on the Friday to ask i...f the Sunday was at all possible, not expecting them to say yes, I heard Colin say in the background "Let's do this for them". On the wedding day Lee and Colin set up the entire venue with very little time due to the lockdown. I swear on the day there was X3 Lee's taking care of all the finer details I wouldn't have even thought of. We always had a drink in our hand, guests were comfortable and the day ran smoothly. Every single thing was taken care of, and the venue was just SO stunning - I can't even put it into words. We couldn't have done it without Lee and Colin. Styling: Lee also worked her magic with Little Love Events. Our perfect boho dream venue looked beautiful and relaxed, exactly how we envisioned. 21.01.2022 From all of us at Barn1890 here is just a very small window into the effects of Covid on your wedding day here in SA, not just once but twice this year! There is a thread that all brides will feel when told your wedding day is cancelled or can’t go ahead. They are sad, disappointed, confused, angry and experiencing a myriad of other emotions. These emotions are all so valid. There are so many hours planning, prepping and dreaming up this day that has now been postponed. Th...ere is a hope and expectation that has now been deferred to a postponed date, and that is a difficult thing to process. Couples have probably been planning this huge day for months, if not years. Some pour all the money they have in the world into it, all the hype and anticipation builds up as you collect table decorations, taste cake samples, go to dress fittings and visit the venue ‘just one last time’ to try and imagine yourself there with all your friends and family on your special day Weddings take so much time and effort to plan, and often your original date was special and chosen for a specific reason. Covid sucks fact... however we do want to thank all our amazing couples for being so understanding and gracious in what is a truly difficult time. 16.01.2022 Within minutes of the announcement of the early end to lockdown Carly and Matt decided to shift their wedding day from Saturday to Sunday. They had endured so much uncertainty and confusion, however nothing was now going to stop their special day This brought about some logistical challenges not least of which was sourcing supplies when everyone is shut until midnight Saturday. 11.01.2022 Our great friends Richard and Bernice have done an amazing job on restoring "The Old Chaff Mill Retreat" over many years. There is a historic connection between Barn1890 and The Old Chaff Mill Retreat. Now when you are looking for somewhere for friends and family to stay you can spend a few nights just around the corner in pure luxury! Congrats Guys, this is such a credit to you both and we are so excited you are finally up and running!
