15.01.2022 NSW Department of Education: education.nsw.gov.au Check-in assessment for Year 3 and 5 Year Dear parents/carergivers,... Year 3 and Year 5 students will participate in a new reading and numeracy check-in assessment in Term 3, 2020. The Check-in assessment is a NSW Department of Education online reading and numeracy assessment available to support schools to assess and monitor Year 3/5/9* student learning following the period of learning from home. The Check-in assessments can supplement existing school practices to identify how students are performing in literacy and numeracy and to help teachers tailor their teaching more specifically to student needs. The assessment will be scheduled for our Year 5 students from 17 August to 4 September 2020. The assessment will be scheduled for our Year 3 students from 21 September to 23 October 2020 Students with disability may receive the same level of support during the assessment that they would normally receive in the classroom. Optional advice: Students will be asked to bring headphones or earbuds that plug into a computer to enable them to hear audio during the assessment. Earbuds used for mobile phones or other portable devices may be suitable for use during the assessment. The type of computer connection needed is a jack or USB. If your child needs earbuds provided by the school, please contact the school office. Thank you for your ongoing support. Yours faithfully Jenni Langford Principal

01.01.2022 Information from NSW Health and Department of Education: Some lovely news, due to NSWs continued lack of community transmission, restrictions for schools have been eased. As of Monday 8th March 2021, parents and carers are able to enter school grounds for pick up and drop off and to join us for some events. Parents and carers, must QR Code before entering the school, sign in as a visitor at the office, ensure they’ve used hand sanitiser, and they must continue to follow COV...ID-safe practices, including social distancing between adults of 1.5 metres. We are still limited to the number of parents or carers on site so we ask that you are mindful of the 50 limit consideration. QR Code posters will be at the main gate point. Parents and carers are asked to limit their entry to our schools kiss and drop area and not move through the school, and we still encourage our children to continue their independence and enter our school on their own and join their friends, as they’ve been doing now for some time. If parents or carers would like to see their child’s class teacher, an appointment must still be made. This is easy to do by calling or emailing the school. Parents and carers can attend school sporting events. Our school sporting events should align with requirements for community sporting competitions and training activities in NSW. School staff will continue to be at our entry gates to welcome our kids in to school and to say goodbye to them in the afternoon. There will be more posts informing you of activities that you can attend during school hours as we received further information. At the moment we will be working on a way to enable families to attend our Easter celebration at the end of this term. Stay tuned for additional information in upcoming newsletters. Supervision time starts at 8:40am. You can book you child into onsite OOSH through Camp Australia if you need to drop your child prior to 8:40am.
