17.01.2022 Dear Members, Nearly 12 months ago I was appointed as president of Barnawartha Netball Club and could never have predicted the events to occur this season in a million years! We started with the most horrendous conditions with bushfires and then the pandemic hit our shores. We did our best to try and keep a season running for our juniors but lost the arm wrestle with COVID19 on that front. ... Behind the scenes much work has been done to ensure our club is covid safe and ready to go when a 2021 season commences, however that may look. We have secured grants while things have been quiet ensuring we are financially secure for our future members. It is with some sadness that I announce that due to my work I will not be able to be a part of that next stage. I have accepted a teaching role in Mildura and am stepping down from my role as president while my family transitions to our new location. I may be the only president in Barnawartha netball history to be able to say that while I was president we didnt lose (or win) a single game! I am pleased to announce Lisa Bradshaw has agreed to step into the role of president until we are able to have our next AGM where a new committee will be voted in by our club members. Lisa Bradshaw has been an excellent vice president and will be a fantastic president and caretaker of the club. She has a huge passion for our club and has demonstrated that already as a player, coach and vice president. Lisa Bradshaw will be supported by our vice president Amanda Bownds treasurer Nicole jackson and acting secretary Claudine Daunt. Thankyou Lisa ! Kindest Regards Kylie Virtue

17.01.2022 Hi all, Just to clarify that there is no midgets training tonight. Also I have posted on the midget page the following and there down not seem to be many people that have viewed the post. Please be sure to like Barny Midgets 2020 to keep up to date with all information. Packs will be handed out next week due to training being cancelled tonight however I can tell you that midgets are not required to pay VNA however it is highly recommended. There are also no club fees as such however at least 1 club membership is required, which will also mean that you will not be required to pay entry on home games. The cost is $80 per membership. You are welcome to purchase 2 membership if you wish to cover both parents or adult family members that will be watching. I will see you all next Thursday, thanks Tracey

15.01.2022 Currently our committee are waiting on advice from our league however we anticipate there will be a disruption to the commencement of the season. This could also impact on our training and upcoming practice match. At this stage juniors Will not be playing this weekend. The practice match & trainings are optional for all members, please contact your coach if you have any concerns etc relating to training. If anyone still has their old netball dresses I would love to grab them back as I’m going to send them up to Darwin and donate them to some schools and communities as they will put them to greater use then just sitting the wardrobe! 08.01.2022 Dear Members, This Thursday there is a free workshop for 'parents only' run by 'Headspace'. It is designed for parents supporting young people in these difficult times. When a young persons sport has not been accessible to them it can be challenging. 06.01.2022 To all the Juniors that got their successful emails, you’re all more then welcome to come to seniors trials however there will be no court time as we need to see the players who’re trialing for senior grades.

03.01.2022 Richmond Tigers aren’t the only tigers out on the prowl tonight! Great to see our junior teams resuming training. This is a sign of better time’s ahead where we can get back to our core business. Special thanks to the coaches tonight enabling us to make this happen and to Judy for guiding us with the implementation of the current regulations and procedures!

02.01.2022 Dear members We will be commencing training with our junior teams (13&u 15&u and 17&u) in the next couple of weeks. Coaches will be in contact soon regarding time, day and venue. Participation is optional for players. At this stage committee and coaches have decided not to commence training for seniors This was not an easy decision however all factors had to be considered. It was unanimous that juniors needed to be a focus for us. I thank the coaches for making the decisio...n to take on this commitment with such strict policies and guidelines in place making it a challenging task for them to conduct training sessions. Coaches will provide details of processess and regulations players and families will need to adhere to whilst attending training sessions. Midgets at this stage are also on hold however we are in discussions as to how we can accommodate all our grades in the future as conditions become more relaxed. We thank you in advance for your patience and understanding. These are unprecedented circumstances for our committee and coaches to navigate our way through. Our focus is on the health and wellbeing of our members and we hope to meet the needs of all our members as more information filters through to us in the near future. 01.01.2022 The committee would like to formally and publicly thank Kelly Brieffies for the power of work she has put in behind the scenes this year as secretary of the Barnawartha Netball Club. We wish Kelly and her family well in their new adventure back home in the N.T. We also thank Claudine Daunt for stepping up to be in the role of Assistant Secretary until we are able to run an AGM and appoint a new committee for 2021. The current committee will continue to work hard for the Barnawartha netball club while we wait for directions from Netball Victoria and the Tallangatta and district league regarding the 2021 season. Thanks again Kelly you will be sorely missed as a valuable member of the Barnawartha netball club.
