24.01.2022 A massive thank you to all of our volunteers, donors and all who have supported us in any way over the years, including financially, in kind, and morally. None ...of this would have been possible without all of you. A special shout out to Mick Abrey from Ruckus, and the Band members who took time out from holidays to go into the recording studio to do this just for us. Love your work.

23.01.2022 As the Victorian fires move from the bush and impact on private property, a new emergency is unfolding. Houses have already been lost and pastures and fences d...estroyed. In the coming days there will be a need for fodder and other supplies for animal welfare and while we have some supplies on hand more will be needed. If you’re in a position to offer a fodder donation or funds to help out please go to http://www.needforfeed.org/donate.html We will also be looking for offers of transport to shift supplies to where they’re needed. If you help with a truck or ute and trailer please go to http://www.needforfeed.org/general-volunteer.html Property owners needing assistance can let us know http://www.needforfeed.org/apply-for-assistance.html

20.01.2022 When we started working on this drought at the start of last year, little did we dream we’d be still hard at it nearly 2 years later, let alone having reached s...o many farmers with unfortunately no end in sight yet. Some stats. since the start of last year:- With our volunteers and partnerships we have serviced farms in 5 states, Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia and Tasmania for drought relief as well as doing our bit for the North Queensland floods and several Victorian fires. These deliveries have been done with now more than 900 truck and trailer loads, carrying 30,000 plus large square or round bales, and other stock feed, transported from all 6 States. A total of nearly 3,600 Farming Families have received help!!! Most of these families have also received a hamper, care packs and many a Lions cake, letting them know that We Care. Total value of aid delivered worth in excess of $7.5 million. All achieved by a project managed by Lions volunteers, no wages, and on a shoestring budget. With your help, http://www.needforfeed.org/donate.html We’ll keep on going, with not just our once a month hay runs. We have trucks on the road most days every week doing as much as we can to make a difference in the lives of those who still suffering.

18.01.2022 Australia Day Hay Run NSW 2019 Not long now Friday 25th Need for Feed trucks meet at Yarroweyah from 1 leaving at 2pm. Others at Jerilderie at 3, arrive be...tween 5 and 6 at Griffith. Saturday 26th Need For Feed and Farmers Across Borders. Hay from WA meet at Cobar early afternoon. Sunday 27th Trucks start delivering hay to depots. A little about our process. Applicants currently confirming details and eligibility and mapping applicants so we can ensure we have a reasonably good idea where you are located. This is important as we do property depots not showgrounds etc. Depots We set up depots in centrally located areas as close as possible to recipients. By early next week we will be contacting people to ask if they are still willing to be depots. Once depots are finalised we will commence work on the recipients for each depot. Recipients - Once the hay is delivered to depots we will make individual contact and ask recipients to contact their depot and make a mutually agreeable time to collect their allocation. Order of priority is being given to those on our books the longest. We thank you for your patience and understanding that at this time we cannot give you any further details.

16.01.2022 These photos are not of drought ravaged New South Wales. This is prime farmland in Northern Victoria. Water allocations are either not available or too expens...ive to continue. Farmers already struggling with a poor milk price, and high feed prices face decisions whether they continue on or not. These farmers will be the focus of our next hay runs. If you would like to help us make difference you can join our next hay run to Northern Vic. and Southern NSW on March 9 & 10 you can register at http://www.needforfeed.org/hay-run.html For more info on the Northern Vic. run, Contact Dan 0429 831 771 Or to join our hay run to Gippsland at the same time go to http://www.needforfeed.org/hr2.html For more info. on the Gippsland run, Contact Don 0429 995 850 It’s the long weekend so you won’t need time off work to join in.
