06.01.2022 ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING President, Keith Jamieson welcomed 30 people (seven less than 2019) to the Angaston Football Club’s Annual General Meeting last Thursday ...at the clubrooms with twelve apologies. The meeting was originally planned for November 19 but due to the Covid-19 shutdown it had to be held a week later than planned. In his report, Keith outlined the difficulties of the season which only consisted of four home games in a shortened home game season. The club was also meant to host the 2020 Grand Final but due to Covid-19 this had to be held at Freeling where all clubs shared the takings. Angaston is meant to hold the Grand Final in 2021 but due to planned clubroom extensions this could be hosted by another club at this early stage. However, the Under 17 girls and Under 13 boys won premierships and the A-Grade finished third with the Reserves finishing runners-up after winning the previous three flags. The club has decided to lease their Panther Estate Vineyard for five years and this will be run under the auspices of Hentley Farm at Seppeltsfield to further enhance the club’s finances. Treasurer, Briony Nye presented a pleasing financial report in light of the up and down season with the clubroom bar being closed for three months and only four home games to raise revenue due to Covid-19. The club’s constitution was updated for the first time since 2011 which now brings the female side of the club under the club’s umbrella. Elections resulted in the following - Patrons: Neville Vaughan, Brian Teakle, Neville Smith, Peter Antonie, Steven Bain, Bruce Doecke and Lorna Doecke. President, Keith Jamieson; Treasurer, Briony Nye; Committeepersons: Jason Treloar; Tracey Noack and Tim Gransbury. Tracey has replaced Vicky Antonie who is joining the BLG officals. New Officers: Due to the passing of the proposed changes/alterations to the constitution, two additions are required for the General Committee. The Female Chairperson is now part of the General Committee which is Meredith Dixon and there is still one position vacant for a one year term and the general committee will attempt to fill that at their next general meeting. Therefore at the 2021 AGM the following will be elected: Vice-President, Secretary and three committee (includes the one year term committee member elected after the 2020 Annual General Meeting) and this grouping will include the Chairperson of the Junior Football Committee. At the 2022 meeting the following will be elected: President, Treasurer, three committee and the Chairperson of the Female Football Committee. Delegates to the B., L. & G. Association: Keith Jamieson and Anthony Schubert. Auditor: Trevor Bromley who was re-appointed. Membership fees for 2021 will be as follows: double $80, single $45, pensioner $20. Senior male players $200 includes insurance and home match pass. Under 17-15-13-11-9 $100 per player with the Under 13-11-9 (male/female) being provided with a piece of merchandise valued at around $15 for their $100 fee. Female Under 13-16-Open players $70. Coaching appointments for 2021 were announced: A-Grade, Jay Shannon; Reserves, Beau Byster; Under 17-15-13-11-9, Auskick and female Under 13, Under 16 and Seniors are still to be appointed. Unfortunately the club will be without the services of Craig Hadden who has coached the Under 17’s since 2016 and this year coached the Female Under 17 and Seniors as well. Craig has accepted a position at Central District and he will be missed at the Panthers. A-Grade coach, Jay Shannon briefly addressed the meeting and spoke of pre-season training which will start on January 11 but there is a possible get-together prior to Christmas. Prior to closing the meeting, Keith announced that Peter David Antonie was awarded Life Membership of the club. Peter is the 46th Life Member and he was unable to attend the recent Senior Presentation Night, hence his medal was awarded at the annual general meeting. See more
