16.01.2022 Great News! We are getting back into the pool. Our pool will re-open on Monday 23rd of November for lap swimming only. Aquatic Operating Hours Monday - Friday: 4pm - 7pm... (with more times to come) Bookings will be essential For Monday the 23rd of November bookings please phone the Rex tomorrow on (08) 8563 2766 between 8am and 1pm to book your swim. Following tomorrow all bookings can be made through the Rex between 6am and 7pm Monday to Friday. We recommend you book a minimum of 48 hours in advance where possible and book no more than a week in advance. Lane limits have been put in place for your safety. Swimming Lane/Lap swimming will be available in the lap pool and rehab bookings in the leisure pool. Lane / Lap swimming will be available as 60-minute sessions and all sessions must be booked in advance Note: your 60-minute session includes entering & exiting the Centre. We ask you leave the centre swiftly after the end of your swim. Pricing & Passes Normal fees and charges apply. Memberships and Multi-Visit passes will be accepted throughout this period. These changes have been put in place to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our members and staff. 04.01.2022 Just finished a PT session ( Oh yay, dont care- another tool on socials saying how good they are for exercising, right?! ) Thats not what I came ...to say though. My dear friend and I are in week 4 of our second partner challenge at our local gym. The one we feel like family at. The one our kids have done swimming at and been to the crèche for years while we wrangle older ones and realised weve forgotten a crucial part of someones outfit to change into (for me it was usually a clean bra or undies). We keep coming. We drop the ball occasionally and our fitness goals slip further away at times, but we come back. Putting ourselves first is never a bad thing. Our last 6 week challenge ended unceremoniously in the final week as COVID hit and gyms shut down. This week our Community now has to be inconvenienced by interstate football players using the facilities during the day and no one else being allowed in. The staff have found a way for the scheduled PT sessions to go ahead, and today I did something I havent really ever been able to do, no matter how fit and strong Ive been. Not much of it mind you, but I can be proud anyway. Heading back to my car, Im smacked in the face by my @lornajaneactive bag... Never Give Up reaching for that goal... big, little, silly to some, or damn well amazingness, its your goal to work towards. Only you can make it happen . Im also reminded not to be bitter and twisted about all the inconvenience- Im bloody lucky I can go to the gym. I can go to the shops, go out for dinner, travel to the city for the weekend. Not taking that for granted. To all my Victorian and International friends, its not lost on me that you would choose gratitude right now if you were allowed to do the things I am gallivanting around doing so please know Im thinking of you all. Cardio Add in new terrains try adding in some hills or slopes to your path each week to increase the intensity or difficulty of your regular cardio session. If you are currently doing two sets of 10 reps of bicep curls, you might like to try doing three sets the next week, then four sets the following week.
