17.01.2022 Feeling grateful! This time last week we said goodbye to 14 beautiful souls after a truly magical weekend at the iconic Collingrove Homestead for our Spring Wellness Retreat. One of our favourite things to do is creating the time and space to escape, unplug, and reset! ... After the year many of us are having taking the time to press pause can seem like a bit of a luxury but is actually the perfect gift you can give yourself. We received a beautiful note from one of our guests.... ‘I honestly cannot rate the event high enough. It was amazing, well thought of and we have been super spoilt from the moment we arrived to the time we left. It was the best thing I have ever done for myself! Everything from the healthy but seriously delicious food, cozy accommodation, programs and the little touches around the venue have been nothing short of amazing. The whole experience was truly nourishing and a much-needed break for my tired mind and body. I’m sure all the attendees left with immense gratitude to both Jenny and Tanya for giving us all such an experience. Give yourself a massive gift of self-care and attend one of their programs. I think the January one is already fully booked but you can also do some day programs. I have even asked to save me a spot for the coming one in winter next year as I’m committing to looking after myself and my well-being from now on. Thank you again, Jenny and Tanya have truly nourished my mind, body, and soul this weekend. I’m now recharged to tackle life’s never-ending challenges!’ A huge thank you to the National Trust of South Australia for allowing us to host our retreat at your iconic accommodation, the nourishing and incredible food by @ali_thebarossachef beautiful treatments by Conny from Ananda and Grace for helping to make it a seamless experience. We’re all about starting our day with a nourishing breakfast and on weekends we like to indulge a little BANANA BUCKWHEAT WAFFLES are healthy, easy to make, totally delicious and a great weekend treat!... Blend together 1 cup of milk of your choice (Coconut & Almond is our go to) 1 Banana 1 free range egg 1 Cup Buckwheat Flour 1 tsp. Baking Powder Pinch of cinnamon (optional) Pour into waffle maker or heat coconut oil in a frypan to make pancakes. 12.01.2022 Soothing an overworked mind, lowering your heart rate, and bringing your body back to a sense of calm can all be done with the power of your breath. So many of us can find it hard to meditate because when we sit still and be quiet our mind can race as feelings, thoughts, and sensations bubble to the surface. A simple and timed breath routine where your exhales are longer than your inhales is an incredibly powerful form of active mediation. A way of disconnecting with your b...usyness and tuning in to your body and heart. There are so many different breathing techniques, we love the simplicity of this technique .great for when you are feeling overwhelmed and need a sense of calm THE 2- 2- 4- 1 BREATH Find a position where you can sit comfortably and your back straight. Close your eyes, or lower your gaze, and start breathing normally through your nose. Inhale for a count of 2. Pause at the top of your inhale for a count of 1. Exhale gently, for a count of 4. Pause at the bottom of your exhale for a count of 1. Gently try and keep your breathing even and smooth. Don’t put too much pressure on yourself as with time it does get easier. If the 2-4 count feels too short, try increasing the breath lengths to 4 in and 6 out, 6 in and 8 out, and so on So you can really get into the moment it can be helpful to set a timer. If you wish you can build up slowly, starting with 1 minute and building to at least 5 minutes. Take note of how you feel before and after.
