14.01.2022 On the weekend of 1/12/12 we were lucky enough to have Bayden Ellston, his family and pit crew stay at our Cairns Caravan Park. Bayden is the driver of # 81 Formula 500 speedway open wheeler and a regular at our park. The following is Bayden's account of the nights events. Had a drama - filled night at the skids. First heat we had a right rear shock come off which made the car a handful to drive, but still salvaged a 5th place ... Second heat the car was on song and looking good until we we bent a radius rod causing the rear end to unsettle a bit. The crew worked their butts off to get me out in the 3rd heat only to have a turn 1 crash with another car, causing the chain to come off and ending our race. Started out of P6 for the final and felt strong straight out of the blocks. We were having a good battle with another car until his motor locked in front of me , leaving me nowhere to go. I rode his left rear tyre and rolled twice, ending our night. Thanks to Barrier Reef Tourist Park, Rev Cranes, Dutchman Performance, Lethal Race Wings and crew for all their help this season. Time to rebuild.

13.01.2022 Hi Robert just a not re the picture for Facebook. We are 5 caravans from Perth "Sunset Coast Caravan Club" heading to Rockhampton for the National Caravan Rally. We have really appreciated the facilities and your help and friendliness during our stay and will definitely choose your park if we come this way again. You should be proud of the excellent way you keep the park in such pristine condition. Regards Chris Parkinson

11.01.2022 November 2012 The Barrier Reef Tourist Park is showing strong booking numbers this month due to the lunar eclipse on Wednesday the 14th. Our Cairns villas are fully booked out for the dates surrounding this historic event and our Cairns cabins are full too. Two speedway meetings mean our cairns villas are well booked for the following weekends in November.

07.01.2022 Another great night at the Barrier Reef Tourist Park. Despite the Terrible weather the BBQ was well attended by our guests. A big shout out tour new American friends and a standing ovation to the duelling banjos!!!!! Great work guys...see you all next time

02.01.2022 Some of our guests enjoying the hospitality at the Barrier Reef Tourist Park. Last night we hosted a BBQ for our guests and were treated to some live music performed by Noel,Eric and Kylie....you guys rock. Congrats to Donna(who misplaced her ticket!),Alan and Jane the lucky prize winners.A big thank you to all who attended. See you next time!!
