25.01.2022 So great to hear music played on an instrument I've made.
24.01.2022 Who wouldn't like to get an email like this. Hi Allen Just to let you know I received the Uke on Monday. It is fantastic and the level of workmanship is phenomenal. I just hope I can play to a level required on such a great instrument.

18.01.2022 First time building with Bocote and I chose to pair it with King Billy Pine soundboard with black / red / black purflings to compliment the earthy color pallet. Ebony head plate veneers, fret board with compound radius and bridge. Gold Gotoh open back tuners.
18.01.2022 Curly Blackwood with Indian Rosewood Bindings. Ebony peg head veneers, fret board with 12-16" compound radius and bridge. Scoop cutaway to aid in getting to those last frets. Rubner tuners and finished in a high gloss polyurethane. A MISI acoustic Trio pickup has been installed.
16.01.2022 This is my favorite part of any build. Pore filling gives us the first sense of what the timber is going to look like under finish.
14.01.2022 Really beautiful Narra with a Red Spruce (Adirondack) with turquoise purflings and Paua Shell fret markers. Ebony head plated veneers, fret board with compound radius and bridge. Gotoh Open Back machine heads. Finished in high gloss polyurethane.
14.01.2022 Soundboard signed and dated before the body is closed up. Next week the bindings get installed and neck fitted.
12.01.2022 Shaping the bottom of the bridge to match the radius on the soundboard. Then a handy template that helps locate that bridge.
11.01.2022 Fitting the neck. This template that registers to the truss rod takes any guess work out of the alignment process.
09.01.2022 One of the next group of instruments. A Sapele and Swiss Spruce Tenor.

05.01.2022 Another nice email from a client in France where we had problems with shipping when they went into total lockdown earlier in the year and it was sent back to me. Finally in his hands and sent me this message this morning. Hi Allen, Just received the soprano this afternoon. Finally ! and it was worth the wait ! Absolutely magnificent instrument in every detail. The tone is warm, rich and the instrument sounds big for its size. The notes blend really well together. Exactly what I was looking for !

02.01.2022 Something a little different for Stacey's soprano.
02.01.2022 Bodies are buffed out and necks are attached. Ready to make and install bridges next. Won't be long before they are ready to go.
02.01.2022 Built this one a few years ago. So great to hear it being played by such an accomplished musician.
01.01.2022 Was taking a look through the hundreds of sets of timber I have and came across this Rain Drop Figure Koa. Must have had it for about 12 years now. Going to build a tenor with it that will be available for purchase.
01.01.2022 I use a 4mm x 6mm Carbon Fibre truss rod in all my ukuleles. Machining a slot 4mm into the neck blank and 2mm into the fret board to accurately mate them together during assembly.
