14.01.2022 Here's a brief walk around of a build up we recently completed for Daniel Meaney & CMV Truck Sales. Our brief included a powder coated Aluweld bullbar, light bracket, conveyor guards, walk plate, raised frame, & powder coated toolbox & water tank. I'm looking forward to seeing some photos of the completed unit!

14.01.2022 Just an update to let you all know that, as of next weekend & for an indefinite period, you will no longer be able to turn right off of South Road onto Regency Road, in either direction. Additionally, Regency Road will be closed at South Road to through traffic. Instead, there will be signalised U-turns on South Road, in both directions. Confused? We were too! Check out the R2P July update for a better explanation & a map. What this means for us here at Tikalara Street is that it's now going to even more difficult for our Customers to get here, especially those in Heavy Vehicles. 13.01.2022 Despite the lack of posts, we've been pretty busy over the last few months. I'll try to start posting some more regular updates, but start out with one from March, when Vivian Bulk Haulage took delivery of their new PBS-approved, HPFV-ready A-Double.

13.01.2022 I know that in these trying times, it's easy to get wrapped up in ourselves, but I can't understand how we didn't find out about the passing of another transport legend until today. Gary "Ripper" Radford OAM, one of our oldest & most enduring customers, sadly passed away on ANZAC Day. Ripper was larger than life, and had a significant influence on the early years of Barry Stoodley Pty Ltd. His loss will no doubt be felt through the transport industry & the Broken Hill community. Our sincere (and belated) condolences to the Radford family. Rest in Peace, Gary.

12.01.2022 It is with great sadness that we advise former Stoodley employees & Customers that the inimitable Sergio Maureira passed away last Thursday. Serge started work with Barry Stoodley Pty Ltd on 13th February, 1989, & retired in January 2016. His experience with aluminium welding saw Serge develop into a leading hand in the aluminium body building section of the workshop, and we estimate that Serge's expertise had a direct impact on no less than 35 apprentices over the years. Sergio's legacy will live on here at Barry Stoodley Pty Ltd. Our thoughts go out to Angelica, Pamela, Carole, & their extended families.

08.01.2022 Several weeks ago, I had the pleasure of meeting Tony Seychell, owner & director of Seychell Constructions, when he ordered one of our stock Hardox tip-semis. Seychell Constructions are a local business, specialising in gas pipeline installation. Tony has also purchased a brand new Isuzu prime mover, which together with the semi-trailer, will add versatility to their fleet. Thank you Tony for the business, & thanks also to Mim Zagari for "hooking us up"!

07.01.2022 With a couple of sneaky last minute hand-overs out of the way, our Workshop is now officially closed for 2019. Thanks to all the guys & girls for all their hard work this year. It's been busy, rewarding & occasionally challenging year, that has generated more than it's share of headaches, but lots of happy customers. We look forward to facing whatever new challenges our 40th year throws at us! Spare Parts, Sales & Admin will continue to be open right through the Christmas period, with the exception of the public holidays.

04.01.2022 This time last week, I was confident that when all the panic-buying & hoarding was sorted out, that everything was going to be, well, not OK, but that life would continue on with some semblance of normality. The last 72 hours has proved how wrong I was. BUT! Life continues on. Goods & commodities have got to get from point A to point B, which means the wheels have got to keep turning. We're still here. We're still manufacturing. We're still working on the big rigs that keep t...his great country alive. We've made some changes. We'd prefer phone calls & emails than face-to-face meetings. We won't shake your hand, & we won't sign for deliveries - don't take offence. We've implemented social distancing & additional hygiene measures within the workplace. 02.01.2022 Speaking of last-minute deliveries, Trent & Justin Proud of Loxton North picked up their new B-Double combination this morning. Both trailers are fitted with fold-down sides & sealed tailgates so they're suited for carting grapes, as well as grain. The sliding A-Trailer has a Ringfeder installed, & both skid plates are fitted with drop-in king pins, so the trailers can be used as a Road Train as well as a B-Double behind the big T909 prime mover.

01.01.2022 Way back in April (you remember, when COVID-19 was confined mostly to Wuhan, China & cruise ships??), our very good customer Phillip Growden took delivery of his new tipping semi-trailer. In addition to the new grain tipper, Phillip's Kenworth T610 is fitted out with a Stoodley interchange system & Hydreco hydraulic fit-up, also installed by us. Note the safety steps covering the gap between the chassis & the fuel tanks - a nifty little concept suggested by Phillip & realised by yours truly!
