05.01.2022 Wow what week for Barry’s Bus Charter. As most of my friends would know just about all my work comes from the Education Department. On Monday all of my work cancelled, so a profitable little small business went from turning over a sustainable profit to a turnover of ZERO. This is the first time in the 28 years I have been running a business that I have had to call staff (friends) and tell them that they don’t have any work. By the end of the week we have done a few charters, ...but nothing near what we usually do. Over the past week with the few small charters that I have done I have noticed that the kids are silent on the bus. The kids are sitting apart and using hand sanitiser without being asked. So, they are thinking about it 24/7. This is hard for me as I like to see the kids out having fun around Tassie and gaining new skills for life. I hope in six months-time that all of them have come through this and the talking will return. I hope in the next few months my business can cope with little or no work. I’m lucky that my wife has a good job and that we should be able to get through this. When I look around and see a lot of other business that I know will struggle to keep the doors open, wheels turning and food on the plate, I know we are in for some hard times. I hope my friends and customers can stay well and that they can keep positive in hard times.

05.01.2022 I worked on New Years Eve and when the customers all got back on the bus I asked them all about their new years resolution. Lots of people on the bus wanted to be happy, loose weight and cut back on the booze. But then a person asked me what was mine, so I started the bus and as I drove off I told them that I wanted to get a bus licence. Just a few people looked a bit stressed on the way home. Have a great year everyone.

05.01.2022 This is for all of the people that think I just sit round all day doing nothing. On Thursday I did a 12 hour day, it was the hardest 72 kilometres that I have ever done.
