24.01.2022 Special Announcement To kick things off, wed like to say thank you. A lot of places around the world have been heavily affected by Restrictions which completely shook the foundations of many peoples day to day lives, a lot of people are still dealing with the outcomes. The fact that Im still able to sit here and write this message while I listen to a juicy beef pattie grillin and sip on a beer is very symbolic to the community that we are apart of. ... We were given a choice to keep our doors open and keep rolling with what made our lives normal, and because of you, we were able to... So we just want to say thank you for getting us through the darkest times Barrys has been through. To know that were surrounded by people that stick around when the times get tough is an honour and something that well never forget. Now we have the emotional part out of the way, wed like to share something else that we feel is pretty exciting for us. Were slightly renovating the Dine In section of Barrys to give it a little face lift for its upcoming 5th Birthday. This was something weve wanted to do for a while, and given that Winter has arrived and times are changing, we felt we needed to as well. We will continue to be OPEN 7 NIGHTS A WEEK FOR TAKEAWAY but will be closed for lunch Mon/Tue/Wed/Thurs for a couple of weeks. Upon reopen we have our fingers crossed that social distancing has become less restricted and we can properly open our doors. Again, we have no idea what the future holds but can only do what we do best which is make some awesome burgers, have a bunch of laughs and go back to living the beachside lifestyle that we all know and love. 23.01.2022 Are we open for dine in? No. Not just yet. I get it, we all want to sit down and have a meal somewhere. We all want to park up at the pub and have a couple beers...We've been open every night and working during this whole pandemic, trust me, I need that knock off sesh as much as anyone...... So please be patient until we can open the doors properly and not have to awkwardly seat people and police the situation. Let's just keep rolling with the Takeaway Culture a bit longer and wait til we're properly over the hill! 21.01.2022 Hello, we just have a few updates "Can we dine in yet" Not just yet. As we've previously stated we're not experts on this situation and keeping both yourself and ourselves safe will continue to be a top priority for us. So for now the Takeaway system will remain the same but we think it's working pretty well... "Were the winners of the competition drawn?" Yes, but due to protect their identities we contacted them privately. Winning our prizes is a pretty big deal so we thought due to social distancing we'd PM to avoid a riot. Can confirm it was the best day of everyone's life "Dude, you know your plants out the front are dying?" Now look, there's many things in my life I've claimed to be good at, and gardening is not one of them. Our regular gardener is MIA so we are all over it this coming week "I haven't downloaded the Barry's Burgers app yet..." You totally should, there will be some specials or different items we are able to put directly onto the app. But thank you to everyone that has come through over the past few weeks! 13.01.2022 Hey Baz whats the go with the bloomin Uber Eats app mate, how does it work? Weve had a lot of questions in regards to UberEats over the last coupl...e years so we thought what better time than now to speak on our experience with the app. Im sure we might get bombarded with slick comments and 1* reviews but after the abuse we have gotten from a lot of Uber customers, I feel that my logical explanations get overlooked by a lot of keyboard warriors, so now I have become one! Whats up with the Uber Commission fee? You pay 35% on every order. To break it down. If a burger costs 10 bucks, we lose 3.50. That might seem like not much, but imagine that on a grand scale Imagine everything youve worked for is getting a big chunk taken out of it, its like extortion but with digital thugs and its a shedload more than hospitality profit margins. Why offer it then ya bloody idiot? Well, it has a really pretty interface and when Im face down on the couch after 6 pints at happy hour and push a couple buttons, a pizza shows up! Its a great system. It has lovely pictures of things you desire but they dont always look the same, kind of like a Tinder for food. It works quite well, theres no physical transaction and it shows up on my doorstep. If Im prepared to fork out a couple extra bucks because I cant leave the house, I use it. So you like it, but its ruining your business? Yes and no. A few orders here and there are alright and completely make sense if you cant leave the house, but when the majority of orders are through UberEats then the business you love might not be able to make ends meet. Dont believe me? Ask anyone you know that works in hospitality and I bet they have an interesting UberEats story! Oh so you mean those hopes, dreams and unicorn tears you were saving up dont pay the bills? Unfortunately not, which is quite strange. To put it this way, how would you feel if when you received your burger 35% was eaten and you still had to feed the wife, kids and pay your electricity bill? Is that why you added a surcharge? Because youve lost 100% of Dine In customers and youre doing what you can to keep yourself, the locals, and all the local South Australian suppliers still in a job, while supplying delicious food? No, its because Im an evil and greedy business owner that wants to stack money to build a castle with a moat and sit around giggling about my antics while I feed crocodiles I bought from Joe Exotic. Yes of course it is. When faced with the options, we could either lower the overall quality of our product and sell people a shitty burger, we could raise the prices on absolutely everything to make up for the losses from UberEats OR we could add a surcharge that most people would find totally reasonable. We went with option three. Oi Baz, dont tell me how to spend my money bro! Im not, these are just the facts. And well list a bunch of articles below to help people understand our situation a little bit more before jumping online and attacking our family run business on Good Friday, you absolute savages! We generally LOVE our jobs and what we can provide and we dont want a few people to ruin it for everyone. Other fun isolation activities could be...not picking on small businesses? A push up challenge? Tiktok videos? Not ruining peoples Easter? Watching Netflix? Knitting with Nan? 13.01.2022 CHEERS! We would like to say a big thank you to all of the people that make Barry's Burgers what it is. We can't thank you all enough and wish everyone a safe Christmas! We will be open everyday except for Christmas Day!! All we want is one day off to open Christmas presents, have a few cold beers and eat our body weight in food!... Apart from that we will be open our NORMAL hours for the rest of the holiday season! Our crew has decided to work through this, so all we ask is be kind and be patient. The kitchen does get hot, staring at the person out the front doesn't make the food cook faster, abuse towards staff only gives us something to laugh about over knockoffs but we promise we will do our best to cater to you and do the best we can! 13.01.2022 So normally at this time of the year I’m sitting around by the beach trying to decide whether I like Sour beers or not. Some days I understand the craze, some days I don’t. But whether I understand it or not, we offer them to keep the masses happy. Kind of like with this QR code thing ... Do I understand Covid-19 and it's global stranglehold on the world's health and economy? Some days yes and some days no. Can I afford a fine for breaching the sets of rules that keep changing by the day? Nah, I’d rather put that money towards a Staff Party at the local pub so here's what we need to do... Do we have a QR Code? Yes, I had the joy of coming in early and printing and laminating them but we will have a pen and paper for the old school folk like myself. I managed to figure out how the QR thing works so if I can figure it out, I have faith in you. Are we offering Takeaway only? Pretty much, luckily the beach season is upon us so we encourage Takeaway at the moment. Our crew here will always do their best to keep people safe and happy so please remember that we are all human, just like you. We didn’t come up with the regulations, we're just a group of locals trying to make a living while the goal posts get moved around to tackle the situation at hand. We will always remain open every night and we hope that we never have to close our doors for you again! 11.01.2022 Down at Barry’s we’ve been a little bit quiet lately as we focus on the warmer months and get ready for the best Summer ever! We like to continue to push ourselves to do better, try new things, make new friends and keep on living our lives to the best of our ability, regardless of what challenges the world throws at us. Which leads us to share a bit of info about the winners of our recent Workplace Lunch Competition. For those who don’t know, we ran a competition which requi...red people to tag their workplace mates so Barry could come down and shout lunch for everyone in the office! The winners ended up being the crew at the Relationships Australia Port Adelaide branch. https://www.rasa.org.au/ What they’re responsible for is being there for people when they might be at their most vulnerable. Helping people out who are less fortunate or need some guidance in the right direction. Just generally being a silent backbone to the community and doing a great job at what they do. Honestly, such a deserving group of people! So below we have a picture of these legends that we had the honour of meeting. We originally ran this competition as a bit of fun but to see the direction we were able to go in and find out more about the figures within our community has been amazing. We all have our rough days, every single one of us, but being part of such a powerful community will always be such a warm feeling. For us, to be able to serve people food that we love to make and see the joy it brings people, that's enough for us. So thank you to everyone who entered the competition! We will continue to run different community based projects throughout the Summer and will always welcome people no matter their walk of life. PS It’s our 5th Birthday this month so expect some kind of celebration!

Walk Up, Phone Orders or UberEats?*** You can still order by walking up to the window, you can place a phone order and you can use UberEats Delivery or Pick Up. 01.01.2022 What does COVID-19 mean for Barrys Burgers? Barry isnt a doctor or a scientist, hes just a guy who likes making burgers as much as he loves eating them and hanging out down the beach. Had someone told him that he wouldnt be able to have a Baz Deluxe while he sat around sipping a beer after going to round 1 of the footy, hed have told them they were dreamin! 2020 so far has turned out to be full of surprises that we dont think anyone saw coming. It has led to a lot... of deep thoughts and conversations about possible outcomes or different ideas as we face a situation that seems to be changing by the hour. So for the whole crew at Barrys we have decided to keep our opening hours the same until further notice. As always we are maintaining a clean and safe workplace and disinfecting our surfaces regularly. Were all in this together and would love to be able to keep providing people with comfort food. We encourage people to place phone orders/takeaway. Our preferred method of payment is paywave.
