21.01.2022 The Reverse Lunge and Dumbbell Curl Instructor Tips w/ @mollykatgay 1. Start with feet hip-width apart dumbbells down by your side, palms facing inwards. Relax the shoulders and chest open. 2. Step backwards with one leg into a reverse lunge, while at the same time performing a bicep curl with both arms. The curl should occur while at the bottom of the lunge, when both knees are bent. ... 3. Press through the front leg to return to standing, while straightening the arms back down by your side, returning to the starting position. Repeat with alternating legs. Tips: Ensure that at the bottom of your lunge, the front knee is stacked over the ankle, the back knee is bent under the hip, so that both knees form 90 degree angles. Start slow to find the rhythm, as part of the challenge is to keep the core engaged and perform the move as smoothly as possible.

Engage your core by gently pulling your belly button to your spine, ribs knit together and widen your collar bones to avoid rounding though the upper back. ... 3. Keeping your hips even (think about not spilling a coffee, if it were on your lower back) extend one leg out behind you. Pause to feel the glutes engage, then return back to the start. 4. Repeat, thinking about keeping a neutral spine and feeling the obliques engaged. Try not to rush through, the slower you go the bigger the burn #BarrysAustralia
