Today is Teacher Aide Day but we are thankful every day for the ability of these wonderful ladies to wear so many different hats every day. We simply could not function without them! 12.01.2022 Science Week at BFSS! Thanks Miss Kara for always giving us fun and educational, hands on science activities to complete! We built balloon powered cars to investigate how to use thrust force to increase the speed of a model car. We used our problem solving skills to overcome some technical issues and observed other forces such as gravity, friction and air resistance. Well done to our winning duo - William and Eli.

10.01.2022 Well done to these three cross country runners for securing the combined schools aggregate trophy for Bartle Frere SS! Mrs Zappala was very proud of their efforts as well as our school captain's well spoken words at the presentation ceremony. Congratulations Luke, Emma and Eli!

09.01.2022 Don't forget BFSS families, swimming starts this week on THURSDAY. Students are required to bring a bag with their togs, towel, sunscreen and thongs/sandals to get changed into before we head off on the bus to Babinda Pool at 10.15am.

09.01.2022 Don't forget parents and students, boating day at Holloways Beach EEC is this Monday (Aug 3). Transport will be leaving from BFSS at 7.30am sharp and arriving back at 3pm. Make sure you return your notes by Friday this week! All students will need a packed lunch, water bottle, hat, sunscreen and covered shoes.

01.01.2022 Last Friday, BFSS conducted a fire drill and the staff and students performed admirably, following our procedure to the letter and also understanding why we conduct these drills. For something different, we conducted this drill during a lunch break which provided an unusual, but possible, scenario for us to navigate. Please discuss with your children what our process looks like for them. When visiting the school, please be aware of our procedures for your own safety. Diagrams are posted for your assistance.
