Elevating the voices of young people in discussions about justice and their legal rights is now more important than ever during this current COVID-19 health crisis. Last year we connected young artists in Geelong with members of the legal profession for our #PortraitsofJusticeProject and we asked the young people what justice means to them. 15.01.2022 Our Barwon Warm Safe Home Virtual Forum is just under a month away, and we would love for everybody to come! We will be hearing from a range of local experts who can provide information on learning to protect your rights, as well as what supports are out there. This event will mark the start of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence in Victoria, and we will discuss crucial strategies for calling out inequality, discrimination and sexism. Together, we can help to prevent family violence. Everyone has a right to live in a warm safe home.

Our team have sent out hundreds of craft packs, and the virtual exhibition is a great way to share your stories, creations, and understandings of what a Warm Safe Home means to you. Together, we can work to educate and prevent elder abuse in our community.

10.01.2022 What does a warm safe home mean to you? The Barwon Warm Safe Home Project is a virtual community art project, starting conversations about elder abuse and respecting older people. If you're interested in participating from home, we can send you a Craft Kit for free and make sure to join our group to see the online exhibition! ... This project is an initiative of the Barwon Elder Abuse Primary Prevention Network. Our partners include: Bellarine Community Health, Prestige Inhome Care, City of Greater Geelong, Barwon Health, Bethany Group - Community Support and Kindergarten Services, Diversitat, The Orange Door, Victoria Police, Dementia Australia and Better Place Australia.
