25.01.2022 The BPCA has released the following updates on the season. Obviously not the ideal ending to any season anybody wanted but the health and well-being of everyone comes first. Congratulations to Anglesea Cricket Club on being named A1 premiers - very deserving after going through the season undefeated. We will keep everyone updated should any other news come to hand about any club or league news about the impact of the virus.

16.01.2022 RE Training and Use of the Cricket Club Facilities Following the imposition of Stage 3 Restrictions in Regional Victoria and offical communication from the City of Greater Geelong, all Barwon Heads Cricket Club members are required to comply with the following. As of midnight Wednesday August 5, 2020:... The BHCC Clubrooms are not available for use. BHCC is not permitted to train or conduct sporting competition. No person is permitted to use BHCC equipment, including any equipment currently stored within the clubrooms or in the external storage area. Club cricket balls are not to used or shared. As per the Stage 3 restrictions: Individuals are permitted to exercise outside but only two people together, unless they are from the same household - to be clear, this does not mean that if the Muir brothers are using the nets that they can be joined by two other people unless that other person is a member of their household. They must remain 1.5 metres apart They must maintain 100 metres distance from any other people exercising in the vicinity If the people exercising are not overly active (i.e.: not puffing etc) they must wear a face covering. The nets at BHCC are public facilities that are available to members of the public under the above restrictions. The Club is not permitted to sanction any use of the facility for training, but members of the public may use the facility for that purpose. Please note that any breach of the above restrictions may incur a penalty. More information is available at: https://www.dhhs.vic.gov.au/sport-and-exercise-regional-vic I know that these restrictions make things very difficult in preparing for, what we hope will be, the upcoming cricket season. However, it is more important that as a community organisation we assist in the control of COVID-19 and that we are seen to be doing so. I hope you are all staying safe and well. Regards, Paul Summers President.

14.01.2022 Not exactly a flattering pic however here’s the committee planning ahead for 2020/2021 - for we will be back on the Village Green.
10.01.2022 Hello to all BHCC players & supporters. Welcome back to a very different cricket season for 2020/21! This post is to alert you to the club's COVID-19 Safety Plan. The full plan is downloadable at the BHCC groups (for some reason i can't attach documents on this page). I urge all player, parents and supporters to read this document thoroughly.... I will summarise some of the essential components for our return to training. This is for senior training and our Junior Coordinator will issue training plans and requirements in the very near future. 1. Everyone must wear a mask, unless batting bowling or fielding. If warm ups involve strenuous exercise, masks may be removed. 2. Everyone must register their attendance upon arrival and leaving. This can be done via you phone and a QR code that is displayed at the club. 3. Everyone must maintain hygiene and regularly use the sanitiser available. 4. There is no sharing of equipment. Fielding balls will be the yellow plastic balls that will be washed after the training session. 5. Each bowler will have their own cricket ball that will not be shared. The bowler shall retrieve their ball. The batsman may throw the ball back if wearing a glove. No bowler shall apply sweat or saliva to the ball. 6. Only the first and third nets will be open. 7. Training will be conducted in groups of 10 and no crossover between those groups during training. 8. Apart from the toilets, the clubrooms are closed. 9. Follow the directions given by the coach/es and by those appointed by the club to maintain safety. IF ANYONE DISPLAYS SYMPTOMS THEY MUST NOT ATTEND THE CLUB. THEY SHOULD SELF-ISOLATE, GET TESTED, AND REMAIN IN ISOLATION UNTIL THEY, AND ANYONE THEY HAVE HAD CONTACT WITH, IS NEGATIVE. This is not just for the benefit of those around the club, it is for the benefit of the entire community. Directions for a return to playing will be clarified and made available prior to the first games. Please feel free to contact the club if you have any questions. We believe that a full reading of the BHCC COVID-19 Safety Plan will answer many of your questions. If you cannot find it on the Groups, please message and I will send it directly. I look forward to the season and being able to see you all at some time during the year. Paul Summers President
09.01.2022 Commiserations to both our A Grade and B Grade sides across the weekend in their respective semi finals. Unfortunately after a brilliant first day with the ball, Mother Nature more than played her part on the second day and stripped our boys most of their opportunity to win the game as rain caused major disruptions. Best of luck to Jan Juc and Anglesea in this weekend’s decider. For our B Grade boys who had a great year unfortunately put in one of our most disappointing perf...ormances of the year on the big day. After being bundled out cheaply we fought hard to the end but Jan Juc were the better team - again good luck to them this weekend. To our supporters, sponsors, families and players who turned out across the weekend and supported the boys we thank you all! Special mention to all those who at the A Grade game yesterday did everything and anything they could to help dry the pitch. Whilst the playing side of things has unfortunately come to an end the formalities of both league and club presentations remain. League presentation night is this upcoming Wednesday @ Leopold Sportsman Club. Please let Stormy know if you’d like to attend. Full table always looks good. Whilst our club presentation night is Friday 27th March @ Thirteenth Beach Golf Club. More details about that night will come to hand in the next few days.
09.01.2022 Ocean Grove Voice bringing us up to speed on the BPCA AGM and the various rule changes for this season. Great shot of Ziggy behind the stumps. Who’s the legend sending down the bouncer? Comments below.
05.01.2022 Hi everyone. Following yesterday’s BPCA Delegates’ meeting I can let you know the following: The BPCA cricket season will commence on Saturday October 31.... The season will comprise 14 one day games across all the grades. The last game before Xmas is scheduled for Saturday December 12 with a return in the new year on January 9. Semi finals and grand finals will be late February/early March 2021. The reasoning behind this structure is: It acknowledges that we are not playing a normal season of cricket. It has flexibility built in. It allows time for Little River to clarify their position as a club existing within the current Stage 4 zone. Having additional Saturdays available beyond the draw will allow a capacity to reschedule fully washed out or temperature cancelled rounds, ensuring that we can play the full 14 home and away rounds. So, we may play on December 19 and/or move the finals further into March in order to reschedule lost rounds. There will be further clarifications in the future regarding number of games played for players to qualify for finals, qualification benchmarks for awards, etc. BHCC will also address award qualification benchmarks for this season.
03.01.2022 Great to have Jono back and raring to go in 2020/2021!
